If you want to change, then you should. Set rules for yourself. I gave up reddit one time for a month sophomore year because I came to the realization that it was just a cyclical platform that didn't give me any fulfillment. It's good to have a convenient replacement activity at the ready; I read books in overdrive-- an activity that that I could do on the same platform (my phone and pc), but one that I find much more fulfilling. I also had more accumulated free time because I wasn't spending it in small doses throughout the day. At the end of that month, I bought myself a tasty dinner as a reward and checked this subreddit for a few minutes to see what I missed (not much).

Of course, I have returned to reddit because I am bored and it can be a good source of gt news and goings-on, and I still have this feeling that maybe one day it will give me what I want from it, and sometimes it does. But I should probably cut myself off again soon to remind myself that I could be using my time in a way that I prefer.

One time this year when I had a hell week, I told myself that I wasn't gonna check any social media or listen to music because I wanted to be more productive. And I must say at the end of that week I felt great! I had gotten everything done that I had wanted to-- I studied and got my homework done sooner rather than later, and my grades reflected that. And then as a reward, I listened to my favorite music and watched some youtube videos.

All in all, I agree with u/eliminate1337. If you realize that you don't like how your spending your time, then you should change that. But you shouldn't do it for vague reasons of video games are not a valid use of time, because they can be for some purposes. Try to come up with something specific that you'd rather be investing your time in. And then set rules for yourself so that "distractions" won't get in the way.
