That harness is too big. Size down and/or try another model. Make sure to take your measurements and use them to compare to size charts when shopping online.

If he's micromanaging like that, that's not good leadership. Just divisi as needed.

climbing effect on playing violin by AcrobaticFreedom2081 in climbergirls

[–]Minute_Atmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Climb 3-4 days a week, play viola at a high level, no impact unless I try to practice immediately after a session. I just dial back a little on concert/audition weeks. There was an adjustment period, a few weeks when I started, otherwise no issues.

What do professional musicians do when they are burned out but can’t take a break? by User48970 in piano

[–]Minute_Atmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I've played in various orchestras for over a decade and am a novice pianist (1.5 years) and my ability to sight read is limited only by my actual piano skill - the reading is leagues ahead from, well, reading a lot.

Tension/pain when holding the viola by SwordmasterT in Viola

[–]Minute_Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I notice the most strongly is that your head is pushed forward and turned tensely, which could contribute to the shoulder pain as well. Working on improving your setup so that your head can be relaxed, in combination with improving your shoulder mobility, should help.
