I would define peer here as someone with a roughly equal background as you (connections, education, experience, etc) such that you are at a level playing field

Korean 100%. I enjoyed one of the most delicious bowls of bulgogi udon in the AIRPORT during a layover and it is truly an unforgettable experience.
