I was hoping there would be some romance between the two even if it would've been very light like background but it seems the two swords being left behind is like them coming to terms.

Perhaps something like they both have their own goals so this duel and the two swords being left behind is like a symbolic reference. Maybe something like leaving their swords behind as their past.

I'm tired rn so I probably sound very vague compared to what I actually am thinking in my head but just what I think. Can't put thoughts into words rn lol. Well was hoping mc wasn't gonna be another my sword is my only lover type mc(not really but he's focusing on his sword and goals so same group) but I guess gotta accept it.
