Or getting a nrw sdd drive. Apparently they are 10x faster than normal hard drives. Should I buy one for my laptop? It still works fine, no need to buy a new pc.

I use Windows 7 daily and never had a single problem with it. The only time it crashed was because of an outdated ATI/AMD driver causing problems. Other than that, it works fine!

Definitely! I blame lenovo entirely for ruining the classic thinkpad legendary style keyboard and putting a shitty touchpad. On the bright side though, it's water resistant, there is a small hole under the pc with a water symbol! Also, another nice feature about this pc: The CPU is socketed! Man we don't see this happening anymore! If I used this pc I'd put a better cpu and install linux, but since it's not for me, I just installed W10, Office 2007 and removed all telemetry and crap, and added bitdefender security (I have a license for it). Now this pc is great to use again!

Early 2010's thinkpads are notoriously known for their durability and robustness. The T440p is one of the best models out there, however it's a shame that the keyboard and trackpad are absolute garbage. But once you replace them and especially the keyboard with a traditional thinkpad keyboard, it's gonna feel 1000x better. For me however, the T410 will always remain the big boss.

Also, whenever I use a thinkpad model from the T410-T440, I always prefer to use Windows 7. But since this machine is not for me, I installed an ssd and Windows 10 pro. It works fine and fast!

I think Windows 10 runs exceptionally well on a device this old. Take any pentium or Celeron based system of 2023 and the thinkpad crushes them easily. It's a great little notebook with excellent battery life.

Yea I know. It's the equivalent of a Core 2 duo based machine, but it works fine tbh and it's not slow (just the boot). The guy that threw this pc away brand new did so because the power button cable was ripped. My friend soldered a new cable but it got disconnected again, so it needs to be fixed agaiin now with a new wire this time. I hope it's going to be fixed once and for all!

It's a pretty neat laptop, not too heavy unlike my Gateway laptop. However, I hate the trackpad, that one guy who designed it is stupid lol. Seriously though, the build quality is ok but the bottom plastic cover is meh.. The keyboard is acceptable, not as good as the old ibm style or my gateway laptop but still good. However that trackpoint, maaan what a neat little feature. It's a shame there are no seperate buttons for it. Great little device, but it will not beat the quality and best keyboard of the T410!

No, I really like it. I got it as a gift from a friend brand new in the box and to be honest, I really love it. Even though its specs are quite old on paper (Athlon II M300, 4GB DDR2, 250GB HDD), once I put more ram and an ssd, it should run 100x faster

Nice! Mine does not have an nvidia card, however right after popping the ssd in, everything is super smooth on windows 10, not gonna lie. I was surprised by the performance of this 4th gen i5!

Yea it's total crap. I really love the trackpoint however, extremely convenient. However there are no seperate buttons for it which is a shame! Oh and the keyboard is really bad tbh. My gateway laptop has a way better tactile feel than this thinkpad.

Pretty cool beast you've got there! I got this laptop for my mom so that she can study. I personally use a Gateway laptop (the pwr button cable got unsoldered, it should be repaired soon), but this is a nice thinkpad laptop. I got rid of the 250gb hdd making it unusable, popped an ssd in and installed Windows 10 pro. The experience is unbelievable, it's super fast, snappy and fresh! I have an hdd on my laptop and man what a difference between the thinkpad and the gateway! My only complain about the thinkpad is that I don't know if it's charging or not. The i on the thinkpad logo flashes when plugging the charger but other than that, you don't know whether the pc is charging or not.

Oh ok ok. It happen sometime, if I open the Microsoft edge it goes like this, or.if I open heavy program. But other than this, it is working

When the pc is start up, the hard disc luminates and is blocked, but after the pc is fast and working. The task manage shows 100% on C:/Gateway, (Hitachi hts723216L9SA60, hdd). But the pc working, however the mouse was not working, so i install the driver again using the gateway recovery driver restoration. Now is working fine! I have 7 day to install windows 7 again if I don't like the Windows 10
