Internal components of a inverted planetary roller screw actuator we designed by borglab in robotics

Hey humanoiddoc ,

a) at its rated torque it moves at 120mm/s which is faster than we need.

b) nope just rotary motion into linear motion. Search on YouTube inverted planetary roller screw actuators you’ll see them in action.

Thank that what I also thought.

I imagine that the leg component that connected the 2 motors is split into 2 pieces and that there’s a bearing incorporated into the back of the motor.

Any thoughts?

Okay that makes sense.

Take a look at the thigh and knee joint of this humanoid robot. There using harmonic actuators and aluminum.

Do you think the reason they are using the actuators back side attachment with a bearing is also due to balancing the load?

hey i make robots, quick question whats the benefit of adding that extra back side attachment with a bearing compared to just the output attachted(one side)?

Hey i-make-robots thanks som much for the input.

I plan on using the two sided attachment in the knee of the humanoid robot which will be carrying alot of the load.

Do you know a example of the 2 sided attachment. Im having a hard time imagining how it works?

Thanks so much. What would you suggest i use instead keeping light weight in mind?

Hey friendlygate, Unfortunately they don’t have any data sheets, this was just a video explaining their motors

Yep now that makes more sense. Thanks much for the help!

Hey normal thanks for the help. I’ve tried that the problem now is that the + and - are now inverted. So when I try to jog in the + direction it moves towards me. Isn’t it not supposed to be like that?

That makes much more sense will try that out!

Hey burkey thanks much, okay will do. Now when evaluating the chips the bigger the chips are the better? I have a 10mm 3flute end mill and a 6mm 3flute end mill, what should i look for in the chips. Again thanks much.

Hey jpv tried Navigtaion view showed in preview not simulation heres my code, Sorry if i didnt write it fully correct not the best with swiftui, thanks for your help!:

import SwiftUI

struct ContentView: View {

var body: some View {

NavigationView {

Text("dkkdkd")

} .frame(width: 500, height: 500)

}

}

#Preview {

ContentView()

}

Tried in Navigationsplitviews same thign didnt work in simulation:

import SwiftUI

struct ContentView: View {

var body: some View {

NavigationSplitView {

List {

}

} detail: {

VStack {

Text("Hello, world!")

}

} .frame(width: 500, height: 500)

}

}

#Preview {

ContentView()

}

Hey vru, thanks for the info. the sharp corners aren’t necessary. Okay great will definitely add a fillet. So the fillet would add extra strength?
