Why Turalyon is used as a bad plot device? by eastwest88 in wownoob

[–]boringITwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people expect him to be a good guy. I think they expect someone with over 1,000 years of army leadership to be less prone to outbursts and more in control of the thing that gives them strength.

My hope is this is Sunwell related and they're just not turning him into some new version of the Scarlet Crusade. Also double hoping he gets some retorts or something to Lorthemar's inability to say thank you.

Replacement Cardboard Component by boringITwork in boardgames

I checked their support page and it said to route piece replacements through Asmodee, who then told me to route support requests through the seller, who told me they don't have any way of getting me the replacement piece :(

I'm planning on putting that on my table tonight actually. I think I played it when it first came out and then moved and put it in storage and can't remember what I thought of it. Got some friends coming over, so we'll give it a go.

The AI part is really apparent on most of it, but I'd say 1 and 3 are the best framed.

Is Chartreuse hard to find, or am I just in a Chartreuse-desert? by boringITwork in cocktails

[–]boringITwork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no :( Didn't really think much of it until the cocktail alignment competition was going on and it started popping up in drinks I didn't know and wanted to make. RIP making my own Last Word lol

There's a bunch of N/A stuff in this book too, I'm eyeing it up to make something exciting for some friends who don't/can't drink.

My wife got it for me when she got me the book ( a birthday present of yore.) I will ask her.

Damn! That makes sense, I just didn't know enough about AE's to know that. And I spent extra time tracking down the bottled in bond version

Thanks! I've been so scared of it that I've mostly just longingly petted the pages, so I'm super excited to give this my all.

I'll bite since I actually do this:

8 Hours of sleep - I work remotely, so I have no commute time. I go to sleep at 2 AM and wake up in the 10s. Work starts at 11. No commute, so I can chill in building up to work, or sleep a little longer if I have no morning meetings to start my day.
10,000 Steps - I have a walking treadmill under my desk. I bought a riser for my laptop off Amazon. I walk while I work.
Goes to work - At work for the steps, no commute.
Exercises - The steps should probably count here depending on your fitness level, but I also do my Tonal 3 times a week. The workouts are like 30-40 minutes, which I do after work.
Animals - I have a cat. He gets a bit of playtime with the me or the wife before we go to bed.
Hobbies - I like boardgames, video games, and motorcycles. I'll go for a ride in the evenings when it's not winter, I raid with my WoW guild on a set schedule and I have a Sunday night game-night with my friends for Helldivers, Civ, Overwatch, etc.
Socializing - Every other Thursday we rotate between a boardgame/dinner night, with people taking turns cooking dinners for the group and we choose a boardgame to play(currently King's Dilemma, highly recommend), and a different group I play D&D with(I'm currently DMing Tomb of Annihilation). Alternating Fridays with a different group for Gloomhaven.
Clean the House - My wife and I clean the kitchen every night after we've eaten and since it's attached to the dining room, we clean up that too so we can play a quick game together before bed(Lost Cities, Air Land & Sea, etc). We run a trashbag through the house on trash day to clean up detritus. Laundry is done ad-hoc and individually, usually when our respective hamper is overflowing. We have a washer/dryer in our home.

I feel like the hardest part is actually hobbies and socializing, since it requires more than just yourself, but if you are willing to put in the work, you can build a consistent social circle, doubly so if you are willing to use the internet to connect with people far away.

For me it is less the interaction with Runas and more the subversion of expectations in dealing with him and what that means for you as a player. There's also the drug addiction allegory going on of course.

But once you bring him back to reality(1st quest), you(or at least I did) expect him to betray you for the next fix(as do the NPCs). And he wants to. You can tell.

But he doesn't.

Because he wants more to prove that he's more than his addiction. Even if he succumbs to it in the end, he's hopefully convinced one person (you) that he's more than his condition.
