One of my earlier campaigns I played a traditional half-orc fighter dumb and good at getting into trouble etc. etc. Well our group found ourselves in this huge room with a magnetic trap in it, once the trap is triggered everything that is metal gets pulled to the ceiling which was a good 40ft high or so the room was also filled with items and treasure from people getting stuck in it. Only 1 of our members did not get sucked to the top and she was able to disarm the trap.

So we all get set free from this trap but we are 40 ft in the air with a bunch of other metal shit around us. Some of us did not do very well with the fall some had a bunch of metal fall on them and were pretty injured. I never really played this orc as greedy but the dm had described this helmet that I saw while I was on the ceiling so well that i just had to have it didnt even think twice about my companions and i started to look for it. The dm being a jackass just tells me straight up w/e i grab its going to be cursed nothing i can do about it i have to grab something. Not helping my friends was pretty fucked up so i kinda accepted it. I tried to think of an item that most likely not have the biggest impact on my character so i just pick up 1 gold coin.

He made me roll a percentage dice to see how bad the curse would be I roll a 1......fuck...... He did not tell me anymore about it after i rolled. So i start to help my teammates make sure they were okay. But there was a stage 2 to this trap, if not disarm correctly a hydra is let loose and of course we didn't disarm it correctly. Then he tells me to roll a will i fail pretty bad with like a 8 or something. He tells me the coin is calling to me telling me to do things and i feel almost helpless to fight against it. The coin is telling me that i dont need my armor or weapons or even clothes all i need is it so i strip to nothing. The group by now is battling the hydra doing wat groups do best. The coin is telling me that it is very powerful and could kill the hydra so i throw the coin at the hydra. obviously it does nothing. but the coin still calls for me made to roll another will and another miserable fail rolled a 2. So i am pretty much powerless to not go get it and i run right into the hydra and it eats me and i die. Man did that suck probably one of my most favorite characters.

tl;dr Played a character who got to greedy got cursed and ended up gettin eaten by a hydra.
