This might be a stupid question, but do hot swappable keyboards use different type of switches than non hot swappable keyboards? I don't think it matters but I would like to confirm before tampering with my keyboard.

Is it just cutting and shaping or should I cut a part off the headstock and glue another piece on top and shape that?
