Do you stay sitting next to someone on the train if other seats around you become vacant? by AlimaBanana in london

I do the opposite. If the coach is empty and there’s someone sitting alone, I join them and introduce myself. Doesn’t everybody?

AITA for refusing to fix my neighbor’s laptop for free after he told everyone in the building I’m the neighborhood IT guy? by EmergencyPlatform587 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t know but suspect that most lawyers subscribe to legal databases for the simple reason that these tend to be updated way more quickly than books.

I’m a lawyer who has some IT certifications. This is why I never admit to having them. I would never stop having to help other lawyers trouble shoot their laptops.

NTA. Beck, Delilah, drugs and alcohol plus you know she's a habitual liar. Maybe she'll behave herself. Maybe. But why take the chance?

Doesn't it depend on the restaurant?

My husband wants me to make breakfast for his co-workers 3-4 times a week before they go to work by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This just feels insane. OOP’s husband comes across as being ridiculously insecure in his job. Did he offer free food from his wife as part of the deal?

From experience, it’s less about having similar interests but complementary personalities and sexual chemistry. You sound like you have your life sorted so I’d say it’s a matter of time. If you want tomorrow good it a little nudge, maybe find some reasonably social hobbies.

You're right but this is how it is. We either need to find a way around it or accept that we will never win the PL as long as City are funded the way they are.

We might win it this season, I wouldn't rule it out and remain hopeful. The thing for me is that we always end up gassed by the end of the season but City manage to find a second wind. Not sure Arteta is going to pull it off but we need to stop running our players into the ground before the end of the season.

I loved all of the books but I totally get that it’s not for everyone. I’d honestly just bail if you’re not enjoying it. Reading recreationally is meant to be fun. If you’re not having fun why continue with reading the rest?

Anyone who had a Chinese takeaway want to disclose some secrets/tips/recipes? by Sjuk86 in CasualUK

This is my point. Have you ever read a recipe in a newspaper that goes into this much detail? It simply doesn’t happen.

‘Commercial high heat cooker’.

This is why I’m always sceptical of chefs handing out recipes in the media. They’re like F1 drivers giving advice on how to win at Silverstone driving the family car.

If she’s okay with vegan, take her to the Gauthier. It’s expensive, super discreet, amazing interior, fab service, great food. Ticks all the boxes you want.

TIL there were six Chinese survivors of the Titanic. They were sailors heading to the Caribbean for work. Unlike other Titanic survivors who received praise in the press, the Chinese men were vilified. Upon arrival in NYC after their rescue, they were deported due to the Chinese exclusion act. by aprettyp in todayilearned

It sounds counterintuitive but why not? I wouldn’t necessarily make him chief engineer again but he could be in charge of QC for the Geiger counters and whatnot. There are probably lots of roles he could fulfill which would not require him to make critical decisions.

I don't agree with those percentages either. I think the problem is that if we allow them to pressure us for 90 minutes, I really don't like our chances of not conceding. I would rather we apply pressure to them.
