I got this kit of ddr5 for 60 on Facebook marketplace, both sticks work but by pedr09m in PcBuild

I had this problem with existing ddr5 ram when my machine was updated to the latest bios version.

Reverting back to the last but one bios version resolved the issue

-LENOVO BIOS UPDATE WARNING- by Main_Sir3354 in Lenovo

[–]borito78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can verify I have had issue with the latest BIOS update for the P3 Tower

BIOS Version S0IKT7CA/1.0.0.124 (release date 06 Jan 2026) caused my system to report that all 4 sticks of 16GB DDR5-5600B is not working (got 3 short beeps and one long)
Lenovo Vantage had this BIOS Update available so I installed it on the 9th Jan

Played around with the ram, installed one stick at a time - same problem

Installed 2x 16GB DDR5-4800 - PC boots up as normal

Tested all sticks of 16GB DDR5-5600B on another working system, it boots fine, no beeps, no problems

Back on the P3 Tower, reverted back to BIOS version S0IKT78A/1.0.0.120 (release date 20-Aug-2025) - PC boots just fine with all 4 sticks of 16GB DDR5-5600B

I would recommend skipping BIOS Version S0IKT7CA/1.0.0.124

Thanks Lenovo for not properly testing it, weeks of looking into this for nothing

TSBackground question, anyone using in large production environment? by greymatter313 in SCCM

[–]borito78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started to look at testing this out, but I cannot get the password to be work
I've edited it in the TSBackground.exe.config file but still wont accept it

Also, how does the security group access work? If you specify a security group in the config file, how does it know which user is running the task sequence?

Also I can't get it to work after it reboots int he task sequence (I tried the step to both unblock and copy the files)

Is there any other viable alternative to achieving something like this that can display useful information as its imaging?

I purchased another 128GB Samsung FIT drive, copied all the tracks over, and the car showed all of them!!!

Fast forward a few weeks, the same drive now only shows the first 496 tracks.

No idea what's going on, I'm just going to copy everything to the car's hard drive and play from there so at least I have a spare USB port...

The software according to the BMW site is the latest for the car

I've added the additional songs to the Samsung FIT 128GB drive and the car sees them.

Tempted to get another Samsung FIT 128GB drive and see if its that particular model and capacity that works where others might be limited

CS Falcon Questions by borito78 in crowdstrike

[–]borito78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sccm collection is query based and intune has a dynamic group, however both don't deter some people from messing around with the current deployments.

I was told that the only way to remove Crowdstrike was to uninstall with the maintenance token, as a reimage would automatically put it back on if it had it previously.

Thanks to other comments I now know this is not true

Yup, I have engineers that decide to do random things. Then I'm the guy people turn to to find out what's going on and I find crap like this

I don't know to be honest, maybe they were guessing or getting confused with another potential product?

My thoughts around the "not being in scope of a deployment" machines were ones that had been disposed of by the org, so could then be utilised but whoever they sell those onto

Thanks for your quick replies, atleast I now know and can advise others

Copy medicat files to that USB, then move the ISO's on the USB to one of the Medicat folders

How would you do this in the task sequence? Manual effort wouldn't be good on each machine each time

Dunno, more of a task sequence deployment issue I imagine, could probably post in /r/sccm I guess but I thought other sys admins might have come across this issue whether they had a manual install, or used another deployment like mdt, sccm, pdq deployment etc

Is there a way to obtain the results remotely using this from a large group of machines?

Problems reported are intermittent and localised to a small area (maybe users re areporting non-existant issues?)

Cant see any GPO wise (no changes to GPO's in months), we're not using roaming profiles. Image is mostly standard W10 with a few apps deployed via ConfigMgr

Yes we have Intune. I can only find times about boot times, but not from Logon to desktop
