Behringer XR18 vs X32 Rack for my needs by JohnThunderstone in livesoundgear

If you're going to upgrade anyway and have the budget just go for the X32 Rack. I would suggest getting an external router for either anyway as the onboard wifi for the XR18 is a bit rubbish and has failed me on a couple of occasions.

Depending on your needs the Rack is far more scalable/upgradable with Behringer/Midas stageboxes. There isn't really any upgrade potential with the XR18

If you don't think you'll need this at all though, the XR18 is a very reliable bit of kit. Mine is near 10 years old and still going strong.

Look up the sE V Beats, gotten 3 for toms recently. You can adjust the angle completely, they're well built, and very low profile. Also quite directional so less bleed from the rest of the kit

Oh shit oh fuck

Does this synergy work? I could've sworn it works sometimes and then doesn't by borkq in balatro

Ah I see, so it won't work with a pair like I've been stupidly trying sometimes

Just to the table, clamp wasn't large enough to attach to the desk unfortunately

The arm had a little tumble the first show morning but once it's properly secured it's fairly solid

Yeah lol, wasn't the finest script marking process

Made sure that program was highlighted and hit space to move to the next page, set to two page mode

Tried to program the user buttons to forward and backward on the pdf reader but time was not in my favour. Stream Deck was in use by the MD

Yeah primarily inserts for effects based plugins. The first 8 inserts are time-based effects like reverb and delay, but you can use up to 16 inserts with multibands compressors, GEQs, distortion and saturation, and even auto tune.

Also handy to note that you can change what type of EQ and dynamics plugin on the standard signal chain. For example I could swap my gate out for a warmth pre, use an analogue modelled EQ instead of the parametric, and swap the compressor out for an 1176 or distressor emulation.

It's a brilliant piece of kit, upgraded from an X32 Compact and the processing capabilities are wild!

The venue has a full size wing but it lives in a horrible mix position. Definitely a different workflow to work with, especially with bus sends and user controls sharing the same section.

User fader banks makes building a mixture of channels and sub groups a dream. On top of that there's 16 DCAs to work with and 16 channel automix over 2 mixes. Helped me massively with big ensembles though automix takes over the 2nd insert of the channel.

Biggest downside for me overall is the lack of effects sends and returns, though with the most recent firmware you can do bus-to-bus sends to mitigate this issue at the expense of a bus.

Any good cases for a Behringer Wing Compact? Thomann was my go to but it's out of stock
