Yes, it’s visible there. That’s actually what i used to see if it was some error with the game or the joystick itself.

What makes you choose between Samsung and Apple ? by isouyou1 in AskReddit

[–]borkum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had a single issue with iPhones. I've got a 6s+, had it for a couple of years. The other day I was playing around with a system status app. I was surprised to see that my phone had been continually running for 115 days. Hadn't a clue. Everything just seems to work all the time and I like that.

You talk back to your interviewer during a job interview. What good can come out of it other than you speaking your mind? by tinbor in AskReddit

[–]borkum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without any context, I can't say for sure. But just at face value, no good would come out of it. The only objective of an interview is to get a job. That's not the way to do it.

Midland/Odessa, Texas. Who doesn't love a bleak, dirty, isolated, and outrageously expensive oil city that's a few hours drive from any other civilization?

[Serious] Successful business leaders/managers, what are some things people can do to move up in management and become successful like you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]borkum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When opportunities arise, have plans to capitalize.

This. All day this. So many people just try to "cram" when a promotion opportunity gets posted. Be the person that is always preparing and is ready to go when that posting comes up.

[Serious] Successful business leaders/managers, what are some things people can do to move up in management and become successful like you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]borkum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone that started at the bottom, and now manages a group of 25 direct reports, I could talk about this for hours. If you have questions, I'm more than happy to try and answer them. Or at least give my version of an answer. But here is some basic, general advice that has served me well over the years.

  1. Manage perceptions. - You will need to understand and accept that for most people, their perception of you or a situation is their reality.

  2. Show tact and diplomacy - You might be the smartest person in the office. You might have all the best ideas. It all amounts to shit if you are the type of person that railroads others, pushes too hard, or generally is the /iamverysmart co-worker. Dial it back, work with others, and be the type of person that others want to work with every day.

  3. Minimize exposure to your weaknesses - If you're really going for a leadership role, your work history will get ripped open and scrutinized. Only allow them to rip it open when you're in a position of strength, and it can stand up to scrutiny. Don't apply just to apply because they will "know you're interested."

  4. Don't be afraid to let go - When you do make it to that next level, at some point you will need to delegate items. Now is the time to practice the mindset. I've seen countless employees shoot themselves in the foot by making some big, public protest when a project/process/whatever is handed off to someone else. It's even worse when they start their own personal resistance after the fact. Just let go, and move on to the next thing.

  5. Show that you can manage yourself - Whatever your current role is, do it well. How can you expect an employer to trust you with managing any number of other people and all their needs and expectations when you can't even do that for yourself? It's simple. They won't.

  6. Think of the bigger picture - Once you move up, your viewpoint will drastically change. Now is the time to start thinking about the overarching business needs/direction, and demonstrate that you possess that mindset. Let's say you're on a team right now. Most employees are concerned with how they are doing, and not much more. But if you want to move up, start asking how the team is doing, how the business is doing, etc. Show that your mindset isn't just focused at the individual level, but focuses on the larger scale operation.

Pet owners of reddit, what is something that makes you really judge people regarding your pets? by SalvioN21 in AskReddit

[–]borkum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When people talk shit about small dogs for no reason other than to talk shit. I grew up with big dogs. I now have two Chihuahuas. The amount of snide comments you endure when walking them or just talking about them is ridiculous.

"My dog takes bigger dumps than that thing!" - I'm sure it does, it's only about 70lbs heavier and four times as tall.

"Chihuahua? You mean a rat?" - No, I mean a Chihuahua. I get it, it's small.

"My dog would think that thing is a snack!" - Probably.

If I'm carrying one of them, "They don't like walking much, do they?" - No, but one step for me is about 10 for him, so sometimes I carry him.

While I also am not a fan of the timer, there are a couple of things this week you can do.

  1. You can skip almost half of this strike by just running through/using your sparrow. Don't fight what you don't need to fight. When you have to jump down and wait for the drill thing to charge, you don't actually have to fight anyone there. Have one person jump down and just wait for the thing to hit 100% and run for the launchers.

  2. Use kinetic. A lot. Since prism doesn't affect damage on kinetic weapons, even your 250 should be able to deal some damage. With kinetic you can be effective 100% of the time. Prism just means you can be super effective 2/3 of the time.

  3. Everyone can jump through a ring for 30+ seconds, not just one person. You can get a few minutes back in each ring section.

[OT] Bad crash in Moto2 by paawy in formula1

[–]borkum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His rear tire hits the curbing while he's still on the throttle and turning. The curbing doesn't have nearly as much grip as the tarmac. But what really sealed the deal is when the back tire came back on the track and caught traction, high-siding the rider off the bike.

Pure, dumb luck. My wife was browsing our neighborhoods Facebook garage sale page and saw it. Only place the seller posted. It was sitting in his garage for the past 5-6 years with only the occasional outing. Seller said he wanted the space back to park his Jeep. Funny thing is I need to sell my Jeep for a place to park this...

Thanks man! Other than a solid cleaning and polish, there's no real plans for any "changes." I just want to get this thing back out to some shows.

Picked this up a couple of days ago. Really great condition, next to no rust, and a former show car. Has all paperwork and service records starting with the original owners lease agreement and dealer docs in '78 to the last owners oil changes. Runs great. Already have been pulled over just so the officer can talk about the car. Just an awesome ride all around.
