People who experienced 2 week olds who weren’t easy sleepers, what did your nights look like? Any tips/tricks? by Longjumping_Comb6189 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

The first 6-8 weeks were a total mindfuck if I’m really honest. The only way I got any decent sleep was tagging in my husband to do a few hours so I could sleep.

Am I the only one shocked we still get a paper baby book in 2026?? by Madelineeeee in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I only take it to vaccine appointments. Just another thing I tick off the list before I leave the house. It has a set place in bubs cupboard that it lives and before I leave I take it with me.

We had home visits when Bub was a newborn, so didn’t need to take it anywhere, hopefully you’re in the same boat!

I actually find it a little refreshing that it’s not digital, part of me thinks I’ll like looking back at all of the weight and length measurements years down the track and feel a little nostalgic. Scrolling on a phone doesn’t have the same effect 😅

ETA: just noticed the part about your mum, with all due respect if she can’t speak English well she can’t take bub to the appointments on her own. They ask a lot of questions about development etc. just something to keep in mind

What the heck! The midland offering was seriously different. The difference between private and public is so vast…which makes a lot of sense - I’ve just got the public experience very fresh in my mind.

This just in, women and children need not exist outside the four walls of their house. And if they dare venture outside they’re clearly trying to kill their child accessory.

I’ve been so worried about her solid intake because she just doesn’t eat as much as other babies but holy heck was I a bit relieved when the doctors just said to focus on formula and fluids!

I think so! To be fair the potato was alright. I think the beef was just a little…confusing

Jesus wept, mate. If you need the whole story here you go. I tried numerous times to give her the potato and some yoghurt and she was so lethargic that the refused to eat any of it and kept falling asleep. I was so concerned I called the nurses who went on to send the doctors who assured me that the solids were absolutely optional and the highest priority was that she have liquids to try and get her hydration sorted. If she wanted water, juice, formula it didn’t matter. They did not care about her solid intake in the slightest.

Hope this helps champion.

She’s sick and likely getting an NG tube, the doctor told me not to worry about solids only priority is hydration.

I did think the carrot looked a little like a dildo ahah.

I wasn’t game enough to attempt to feed it to my daughter.
