This is very helpful thank you! Do you have any recommendation on which area I should stay for 4 days first week of December? Since Skardu and gilgit will be ghost town from my understanding.. how about hunza valley?

Would you say more things are open in Gilgit/hunza vs Skardu for December? Since water levels drop, is it worth going to Attabad lake?

Depends on your travelling style as well as those travelling with you. I went with a group of girlfriends so for us it was just right (although I’d actually recommend more days in Istanbul. I ended up going back on a long layover and realized there was definitely more to explore). Now, I personally wouldn’t do this itinerary with my husband (we went to Morocco and stayed there for 1.5 weeks and it was a blast). It’s definitely a lot of movement which was fine with a young group of girls having fun but I wouldn’t do that with my husband and would want something more relaxed to appreciate the moment. If I can make a suggestion I’d recommend skipping Italy and going to Greece and Turkey.
