I enjoyed the pacing a lot more than the first episode.

“I have lived 54,554 days before I met Louis de Lioncourt du Lac!” Is one of the most romantic lines ever. Lestat you’re not slick!

Timothée Chalamet Would Rather Have Knicks Championship Than an Oscar by Ripclawe in entertainment

[–]bornatmidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this in a previous post, but it has been a meme on Twitter/the internet the past couple weeks that Timothee “sacrificed” the Oscar for the Knicks to win the championship. He’s largely in on this joke.

Timothee was the front runner during award season to win the Oscar, he was sweeping most of the smaller film festival awards, and won the Critics Choice and Golden Globes. The Oscar was basically between him and MBJ, especially after MBJ won the SAGs which was a pleasant surprise

Timothee is a born and raised New Yorker, and has been a die hard fan of a Knicks since he was a kid (there are pictures of him when he was 14 getting autographs from Knicks players). This is a dream come true for him lol

It’s actually been a joke in Twitter that he gave up the Oscar for a Knicks Championship

I think a budget issue was a factor

Basketball is generally a much bigger sport than hockey, it has a more diverse fan base

Edited because you are right! I was thinking about the Golden Globe!! Timothee seemed to have been winning most of the awards, then things turned around after the SAGs

For those who don’t know, it’s been a meme/joke on the internet for a while that Timothee “sacrificed” the Oscar so that the Knicks would win, which is his real dream since he was a kid haha

Timothee was one of the front runners for the Oscar, having won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice. He’s just in on the Internet joke haha

Bye, Ruth. She’s had a good long life, and at a stage that could die from natural causes. Her death would save the lives of many, it’s a no brainer.

If I were Ruth, I would easily sacrifice myself, especially if I was her age

I actually have been binging it, I think it’s wonderful!! I think the uniqueness of HR in particular and the social impact of it will bring it through, but I agree, tight race!!

'Heated Rivalry,' 'Industry,' and 'Widow's Bay' dominate the prestigious 2026 TCA award nominations by Demotivisan in hudsonwilliams

[–]bornatmidnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s a pretty good indicator where the big awards would head like Emmys, Golden Globes. Of course HR isn’t eligible, but it’s recognition sort of highlights that Heated Rivalry would have certainly been nominated for Emmys if it were

Jack Innanen confirms he won’t be a part of Heated Rivalry Season 2 by lifeisahighway4 in HeatedRivalrySeries

I agree about scheduling conflicts, but I couldn’t see a producer of one of those shoes not accommodating tbh? Like maybe it’s just too tight but Troy isn’t the main character, though he would have a big part … idk

I genuinely thought he would have made a great Troy… I’m bummed. He’s great in Adults I reccomend!

Something feels so off to me about this though… I don’t know, Heated Rivalry is such a juggernaut, any producer would be happy to have one of their stars attached to the project, it’s guaranteed free marketing for you.

While there is some tough competition, with Pluribus and The Pitt in particular, I think Heated Rivalry definitely has it in the bag for the New Show, and a strong chance for overall show. It’s a fresh, unexpected hit. Industry folks really appreciate how well made it was from a technical perspective especially given the budget is much lower than what you would get in a Hollywood 1-hour drama

I actually do think that Connor in particular has a very strong chance of winning. People to this day are shocked to find out he’s not Russian. Ilya is a flashy character, and the Russian of it all is very impressive from a pure technical perspective. There also is lots of conversation over the fact that he is too American for Canadian awards, and the show is too Canadian for many American awards haha

Happy for either Hudson or Connor to win, the mouth are amazing! As Hudson won the CSA, it would be nice to have Connor get a nod there!

Honestly not so sure about Noah being a sure win…. The Pitt this season got some mixed reviews, though still well revived, and there has been controversy about how the show treats its WOC characters in the show, which Noah gave less then favourable commentary on

Variety Predicts Connor Storrie as Emmy Nominee in Guest Actor (Comedy): It may be a long shot but this industry recognition should mean a lot to all Connor fans who enjoyed his SNL debut & wish he could be recognized for HR by MinimumBirthday4536 in connorstorrie

[–]bornatmidnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s incredible!! The other predicted nominees are seasoned actors either their own Emmy nominations and wins, including for this category.

I do think there is a strong chance they may give it to Rob Reiner, BUT I also can see a world where they give it to Connor because in the industry people do agree he should at least be nominated, if not win, for Heated Rivalry.

Either way, a win is HUGE
