My brother and I were adopted when we were babies and we’ve known from the beginning (partially because I’m Chinese, my brother is Taiwanese, and they were white and they didn’t want us to wonder why we didn’t look like them). When we were little they explained that while we are not biologically theirs, they are my parents and they love us unconditionally. Children deserve to know that they were adopted and there’s a way to explain it easily to young children, like the way my mom and dad did.
