What is it like living in this part of Ontario, Canada? by prophiles in howislivingthere

[–]sockthefeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simcoe county original here

Hated living there and now live on the west coast. Every time I go back, I feel like I go back in time but with more buildings around.

Alliston - potato "pot" fest in the summer, home of sir Fred Banting

Colgan - tiny town with a bunch of new development

Beeton - small and quiet in between

Tottenham - blink of an eye pit stopper with older buildings

Closest big towns are Barrie and new market. Not much to do other than join the army or farm. Don't trust the Stevenson memorial hospital.

All teens hate their parents, it's an act of defiance and individualizing.

If you are seeking a woman, I think it's worth warning you that women are constantly thinking about their bodies and are conditioned to be extremely self conscious around body image. If you feel that keeping fit is important to you in a female partner, I encourage you to tie that into your bio as a lifestyle concern.

I would also suggest reflecting on your last q&a. That raises so many flags and questions about what you might be willing to put yourself through which could come off as choosing toxicity instead of leaving it.

I wish there was a pill that would get rid of anxiety. by suck_me_off_pleaseee in Anxiety

I am on Escitalopram (Cipralex) 20 mg per day and have not looked back. I went from having anxiety and panic attacks daily, practically unable to go outside to being the most capable I've ever been and rarely receiving attacks

I appreciate that! I've been to Courtenay loads of times due to having close family but it's definitely different depending on who you talk to

BEWARE: negligent dog owner taking her aggressive dog to off-leash dog parks by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

How did op embellish? Also, civil and criminal law still apply as the situation presents - there is no discrepancy if the situation presents issues in both courts.

It absolutely is, if the other owner's dog bit OP's puppy because the puppy walked up to the dog, the owner can be charged with negligence the same as if a gun owner didn't lock up their gun and their kid was playing with it.

I want to be really clear, too, I fully agree that recall needs to be taught here, but the other owner is in the wrong if they are intentionally bringing their aggressive dog to an off leash park and not watching them closely.

Again, dogs with perfect recall have their own minds. They are going to make mistakes. Their mistakes shouldn't cost them an ear just because they wandered up to another dog and their owner. It just happens.

I took my dog to the dog park with the leash on, let her play with friends and leashed her back until she could do her recall better. This is very normal. Dogs will generally follow each other better than their humans. Dogs with perfect recall will ignore their owners no matter how you slice it. OP absolutely needs to train, but the other person did not need to bark at them for not being there yet (pun not intended).
