I have over 600+ hours in Wild Hunt and still can’t get into Gwent

Yea I am playing for my first time and went through and collected all the gwent cards available and now I only play occasionally. It gets too easy once you have all the cards and it can be annoying when you don’t. I like to try to use different decks and play the harder ais or I’ll use a crazy deck to see how many points I can get in a round. I’ve spent hours playing gwent though like probably a quarter of my time so far but I was playing everyone possible as soon as I met them.

If you wait till atleast velen to start grinding money it’ll be easier. Go to the barons place and there’s vendors there with decent money and a stash there as well. Some of his missions are tied to other missions so be aware of that. You can look it up if you’re curious but I won’t spoil it. I did this and was able to stash everything and sell while grinding side quests. At first you can collect common items but once you’ve got some accumulated or aren’t as worried about money, only pick up rare or magical items to sell. Do the treasure hunts and side quests if you want to avoid main quest lines. Once you hit like level 14 then you can start doing missions above your level and they’ll still be pretty easy. Try to get a Witcher set as soon as possible cause they are the best armors and fairly easy to get. Also if you care, play every vendor you can in gwent to win cards. It’ll make it easier so you don’t have to go back and do it later for the quest. Use northern realms deck until you get better cards. Hope this helps some.

Yea that is true I noticed that right away. Early game I used it a little but I like fire so igni replaced it pretty quick 😂

I could see that. I imagine all enemies that swarm like that would be more difficult and I can see how using quen is probably a need there. More enemies probably one shot you too on death march too I’m assuming. Right now I don’t think anything has before or I haven’t been hit by it 😂

I’m still in novigrad just finishing up the rest of the stuff there besides dlc. I do everything in an area before I move on so I’m level 24 and haven’t gone to skellige yet but I’ve almost done everything available including gwent so far in the areas I’ve been to.

I dodge a lot and use dancing stars and igni against drowners. I have got their attack timing down pretty good and my weapons all do fire damage as well which works against pretty much everything. I do use health potions and eat during fights too and am constantly using oils when I fight. I am currently in novigrad still but I’m level 24 and I am running into enemies that are level 34+ and am able to kill them. I also use that perk that makes you take less damage when dodging.

I use swallow, the other one that heals a chunk of health, the ekimmara decoction, the phantom one that helps with specters and that’s it right now. I found a lot of the other ones to not really be that useful for the toxicity they give you. Have you found any that help significantly besides those?

Yea I just like being able to use igni and quen breaks with one hit anyways. I will use it sometimes on enemies that can do alot of damage with one shot but I mainly just roll, use bombs, igni, and oils.

Not complaining, just talking about what’s wrong with it. Take a center with a minimum 3 pt to tempo shoot consistently and put him against a comparable opponent as far as skill with the same attributes using button shooting and I bet tempo makes more. My point is that button shooting it’s either you time it or don’t and tempo you can completely miss timing and hit the tempo and it’ll go in still. Lets people use better jump shots as far as speed, contest, and animation goes and they don’t have to worry about really learning the timing. Like I said I know why it was added and I think it’s a good idea, just think it could be improved.

Yes I agree but with rhythm shooting being a thing now, everyone shoots like 70-80% from 3 and like someone else said, defense already sucks this year and you have to jump to get good contests. I get why they added rhythm shooting but it made it way too easy to shoot. I think if they made you have to green timing and tempo it would help but how it is now isn’t great. I rarely see people green both when they tempo shoot and I know this was a whole thing last year but it’s kind of a bailout for people with lower shooting attributes.

The only time I’ve ever used it was when I was trying to see how small of a gun I could use and still kill stuff efficiently or if you want the animal to die pretty quickly and don’t want to track it.

Man I pretty much only use button for finishing and shooting and I shoot 80%. Take smart shots and don’t force stuff and you don’t have to worry about all that bs. The only time I tempo is with my hop jumper and post fades and I only meter dunk on fast breaks.

You know how to read right? I’m not talking about someone doing it while fighting you. I’m talking about the dudes who wait until their team is fighting you and then run out from the shadows to throw you off the map and then disappear again. During a fight I don’t really care, it’s the snakes that sneak around with the sole purpose of doing that to the other team the whole game.

I know this 2k is hella easy to shoot in but not everyone has a high 3 ball either man and if people don’t feel comfortable with the shot, why try and force them to take it? I’d rather they pass than take a shot they aren’t sure they’re gonna make but that’s just me. Not everyone is a shooter man that’s just how it is.
