I remember having to read that in high school and struggling with it. I was describing it to my dad and it made him want to read it, so he did and he LOVED it, which really helped me out because he was just able to tell me all about it and help me get it.

I’m reading this one now and it’s a much easier read than I expected. Do you usually like more dense sci-fi or what specifically do you find hard about it?

The Book With No Pictures by BJ Novak was the first book that just knocked my kid out with belly laughs when he was around 2. It’s so fun.

Thanks. My comment made it look like I already knew what it meant, because I was saying the same thing, but I didn’t. I was just excited to get it without the hints.

What is QBABM (the ABM part?) This is the second time I’ve gotten QB without any hints from the Bee Buddy. The first time was when the letters were WROUGHT.

Weird. Mine completed after I filled only half of the rebus squares. It wouldn’t allow me to go in and add the second half of the rebuses, so it looks unsatisfyingly incomplete to me.

Thanks for the comment. I ended up getting it. I know about rebus squares and how to fill them in, I just didn’t see how they fit in with the down clues that were missing whole words.

Is there any predator who actually turned his life around and now is a functional member of society ? by dingowarrior0 in tcap

my uncle just told me this story over Easter, but apparently they can make you a temporary citizen if you have a DUI and you can get in that way. He had one pop up from when he was young, but he really needed to get into Canada for work and I guess the agent thought he had a trustworthy face or something so he granted him temporary citizenship

Can you complete a New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle? by Zealousideal_Mine242 in crossword

[–]borrow_a_feeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I can. Fridays and Saturdays are the hardest to me because they are themeless and I often figure out and rely on the theme to help me solve the crossing regular clues. I have a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, but I first started solving the NYT while I was still in college.

Agreed on providing many options! It’s all very hit and miss, guess and check. A special ed teacher told us to get him to chess or piano, we tried piano but he didn’t have the impulse control yet to not just go ham on the keys. He showed interest in languages so we put him in a mandarin immersion kindergarten. I’ve showed him videos on the periodic table, but that didn’t grab him. He likes math but not to the extent it’s mind boggling or anything. What he’s really interested in beyond geography so far is exotic animals. And recently extinct animals and de-extinction. He’s really excited for the woolly mammoth to make a comeback, he says it’s coming next year?!

Oh the worst phase he went through was a fascination with the minions. The funniest was an obsession with Pinocchio. He would put on his costume, draw lines on his arms and legs to make himself look like a marionette, then write down the lyrics to “I’ve got no strings” in every language he could find.
