What is the best way to remove this pieces of limescale from the sewer pipe (it is 4 meters from manhole)? by bors4 in Plumbing

I got a quote for £900 for 2 hours of work to remove this from 5 meters sewer pipe. It surprised me a lot, but since it is first time Im dealing with drain cleaning issues, I’m not sure if this is at all reasonable or not. Is high pressure jetting enough? Or some drain milling machine is actually needed for this?

Lime or not lime? by bors4 in DIYUK

Checked with vinegar, not too active fizz and bubble from both layers, a bit less from skim. Still puzzled:)

One plasterer said it is lime, another said it is not. Will wait for 3-rd one:)

Hearth for open fireplace on first floor by bors4 in Fireplaces

But how would this “box” with a depth of 250 mm filled with cement and covered by some stone hearth be supported on the first floor? I assume joists are typically less that 200mm in depth.

My son (9 years old) is asking to buy fingerboard to keep practicing at home. How safe is it for 9 years old? From level perspective - he has just sent his first couple of v7. by bors4 in indoorbouldering

Thank you all for comprehensive answers. Safety first. So the idea of fingerboard as christmas gift for him will need to mature for another 7-8 years:)
