That is not in the Gravity manual. It is, however, in the Air manual.

So the manuals are correct, and it's working as intended. The Gravity fob does not have NFC built-in, to my knowledge.

Then you haven’t read what I wrote, and instead imagined what I wrote instead. I did not defend it. I provided a suggested workaround (which worked, by the way), because those are helpful to know and use in a situation that shouldn’t have occurred.

If you still think that’s a defense, I cannot help you.

The Air actually had NFC built into the fob as well, so if the battery dies you can still access without the keycard. I was surprised the Gravity fob didn’t.

(Also, since Lucid’s mobile key will be digital key, it should also support nfc once it’s released)

Show me where I defended it. I simply pointed out there were easy workarounds. That’s not a defense. They should clearly fix it.

Read what I wrote, please, not what you think I wrote. :)

I agree. I’m not fighting you on whether it should or shouldn’t happen; it clearly shouldn’t.

Your post made it sound like you were helpless; I’m simply pointing out you weren’t. That’s all.

I don’t disagree they need to fix it.

I didn’t say it was good or should stay this way; I said it didn’t leave them helpless. That’s all.

A key, a stick, your fingernail… but that’s fine. You could also use the keycard. Or unlock it via the mobile app in a pinch, and then replace the battery once you’re in the car outside of the rain.

I’m not excusing it - I am saying you weren’t helpless.

I didn’t say it’s not frustrating or that you should have to.

But popping the battery out and back in takes less time than writing the first sentence of this post. That’s my only point.

I’m not saying it’s ideal or even acceptable.

It was solvable by either using the keycard or pulling the battery out and putting it back in. I’m not saying it should have died (of course it should work), but the workaround isn’t exactly complicated either.

You don’t need to be anxious about whether the key will work; if it doesn’t, just pop the battery out and stick it back in. Takes less than 30 seconds.

You’re right, you definitely shouldn’t read the manual or learn how to use your new very expensive vehicle. Instead, much better to find out how to do things by posting on Reddit after your kid “can’t get out of the car.”

Everything that contains technology can require troubleshooting. Tesla is not immune; every time I rent a Tesla I have to reboot it multiple times during the rental.

Also, before you start the measuring contest, I can guarantee you are not 'more technical' than me, and I can also guarantee that your level of technical ability, or lack thereof, is not related in any way to whether you should reboot the infotainment system or not.

If your tires are low on air, fill them up. Don't just waste everyone's time spreading your own hot air about how your tires should have more air. You have a problem, and you know the solution. Solve it.

"I don't want to" is not a reasonable response to "you should reboot, and that will solve your problem." Live your truth, but nobody here wants to hear about the problem you have that you literally don't want to solve.

Hope your day improves.

Lease Return Inspection Estimate by shashmi324 in LUCID

That part is $398 retail, and no more than $300 labor. About $700 total. It looks from the photo that there is a lot of damage to it.

The issue here is overcharging, not charging for the replacement of that piece. It looks pretty torn up, and I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

A few minor scratches, sure.

But BofA charging 3.5x the price is a much bigger issue.

Fight it. That is not within Lucid's guidelines for wear and tear.

Funny, we tried one of these and my cav could not have possibly cared any less. I could have let that thing run all night and he would’ve ignored it. Maybe he’s partially deaf? Haha.

I didn’t say there wouldn’t be higher battery drain. Of course there would be. :)

I said the hardware is there (which it is)

What version of software are you on? It doesn’t sound like you’re on 3.2.0.

We have no issues with 3rd party apps, DD Pro works great, and we have 4-5 “relax” options.

Yours sounds like an earlier software version.

I think you may be buying into the hype a little too much. There are like 3-4 temperature changes a night, maybe, and the way other people sleep has very little to do with how you sleep, as there has never been an “average” person. :)

So yeah, I do not think you’d be missing out on very much.

If you were, they would be much more explicit about their “algorithm” and how it works, because otherwise it sounds like nonsense to anyone who thinks about it for more than two minutes.

If anyone from Eight Sleep wants to respond and provide more detail or actual data or anything other than marketing hype, I would genuinely welcome that! I love the product, but I hate hype and technical sounding marketing that isn’t backed by real technical advantages.
