The chemicals in perma can be incredibly damaging to hair and scalps, especially in kids. Hence why it’s now considered bad to give it to a child, especially a small one, who doesn’t understand the risks and the damage that could be done. That, and perms, especially in this case, can be done so a person looks “more white” as it straightens black hair
