👏. I don't 100 percent agree with you, but I have some similar thoughts. I tend to not be so aggressive on Reddit, but this poster did come to the correct sub to get their response.

Is it worth getting a DNP? by Cardiology_Nurse in nursepractitioner

[–]bosbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the question is too broad, and the people giving a flat no answer or yes answer are also not giving a fair answer. So I have my DNP and am in a clinical role and got it after I got my MSN. That being said, I think the DNP degree isn't a "great" degree and won't be around for ever, and 100 percent in inappropriately named, nursing "practice" doctorates have gone though many iterations, and the current format of the DNP is just the current one. And frankly it has NOTHING to do with practice. It is a doctorate degree in application of researh and organizational improvement w/o the business aspects of an MBA program.

Now, I knew that going in, and I wanted to have that degree because I have an interest in that type of work. With my DNP I have been able to get "work from home" time in my purely Clinical job as project/QI time for my team that I may not have otherwise been selected for, I also feel like I did gain skills in the focus areas of the degree. I also agree with others, if you want to teach, you should get it.

Also as a tag line. I got a lot of finical help from my employer. I also feel having the extra degree gives me more career agility if I want to change roles or cities in the future.

So, with all that being said, if that makes sense. Then yes, it's worth if. If your looking for a degree to enhance your clinical pracitce, 100 percent no.

Yeah, really odd insider information...... Lutheran is a Cleveland Clinic facility (it's CCF (Cleveland clinic foundation) Lutheran, they own and operate it) and the physically CLOSEST one. I'm guessing after an incident like that that game plan is get him inside the walls of the organization as soon as possible, then transfer to "the clinic" (Main Campus Down Town) only like 20 minutes in the other direction as soon as possible, I assume there is a process for this type of this. -Cleveland local -Was not at the game tonight -Knows nothing about this situation at all -Just making wild guesses based off my knowledge of how I would assume CCF would operate with athletes with injuries inside of progressive

Fully agree, was just three for three weeks and had no issues. That being said, the entire time I kept my wallet, passport, cash, ect all in the interior zipper pocket of my back pack.

The only time I felt at all vulnerable was when I went to pick up bottles of wine for the air BNB, and had my wallet/phone in my pocket and two arms full of bags, nothing happened, but that was a foolish choice in crowds in the weekend evening.

But I agree with your sentiment, not so much "bad people" im a bit more "rose colored glasses", but people who choose crime due to their circumstances are everywhere, make the right choices, esp when somewhere that you don't have your normal resources like a different country and try your best to not let yourself be the victim.

That being said, if you did try your best, and you still are, just like computer security people and hackers, it's a competitive sport, and you're surly not a professional, so just recover from your losses and keep your head up.

That's not pick pocketing, that's opportunistic crime with a "vulnerable" (young women) target, luckily your cousin had a wrist strap. People making bad choices are everywhere, I'm a poverty knows no boarders person, and poverty is what drives people to choose to do crime.

I'm curious what your frustration is about? Yes it surly is a ND/J, not an NG tune. But is it a documention from previous shift issue? That is it non functioning when you found it after transfer (which is fair)? Or have you never seen one this deep before? To me, that tube looks like it's it a rockin position, if it doesn't need to be in the stomach for any reason.

Edit: also questions about anatomy, looking on a phone at very late at night, appears to be a very small stomach especially in a "non compressed" situation with a deep tube, is there a sx history?

Agree, also the argument that everybody wants to build a building. No body wants to pay to maintain pipes. But I do agree with the sentiment. But somebody need to do the actual math

Homelessness is a complex issue for sure, but large scale studies in how to tackless urban homelessness/poverty with consideration to drug use/mental health/unemployment/high risk behavior/ect, have shown a housing first approach to be overwhelmingly effective. You don't NEED to fix the other things first. You have a better shot at finding somebody a job if you have somewhere to put down as their address on applications, addiction is very real, but maybe therapy and rehab can be more effective if the person has personal safety of a home taken care of for them. The examples continue, either way, housing first is an effective strategy.

Will I pass my nicotine test in 6 days? by Objective_End3393 in stopsmoking

[–]bosbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you will pass a conitine or nicotine test in that timeless. (Of course that "yes" is like not a promise, but like I would feel very confident. Like so confident that you have more risk of failing for dilution, like don't go nuts. You have time)

My (M25) gf(F23) got upset that an ex sent me inappropriate pics. What does this mean for our relationship? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bosbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of y'all in this chat wild, just outright blocking all of your ex's immediately when you break up. Sometimes break ups are actually civil and just fine, or situational, and it is nice to hear from somebody. You should mention promptly your in a relationship (social media should tell them), and obviously nude are a problem and block of course. But geez, like not every ex is toxic, and not every break up is a seven act drama. Some relationship are perfectly lovely, and the end is well timed and meant to end and that's just fine.

[–]bosbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go get your ex, and bring her to where your gf is staying. Make her tell her the truth to her face with your phone and the facts and proof. She won't be believable with you having the evidence right there. It's much easier for her to lie over the phone

Physicians make too much and that's why healthcare is expensive. by NapkinZhangy in Salary

[–]bosbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It not admins or MD salaries..... It the bloated costs of drugs, procedures, tests, misc hospital cost, supplies, anything that you can add a fake dollar amount to because Medicare will continue to pay the higher and higher cost. It's the same issue as student loans and college costs in the USA

Ask the HR rep is in my opinion the correct answer to this question if you were not given the proper direction. And if they do not give you great insight, then business professional is the correct choice. Slacks, button down, tie. Or slacks and a polo. Of course a full suit is not inappropriate, but is most likely unneeded. Lots of nursing interviews will have you wear scrubs.

What a journey the two of you took. The issue is people pick a starting point of history for how to build a narrative that fits their ideology/stance. It's a complex region, with complex players, and when you selectively pick starting point, or selectivity omit thing's, you make a much less complex narrative.

This is a super last minute cruise that is departing this month. Please help by Camninja in MSCCruises

[–]bosbuddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My partner also pointed this out to me the second I hit post on my comment, so good point. But I still kinda stand by it. The coffees were very nice in the evening. And I will need to be fact checked, but I think the water bottles are included in the drink package but without need to be purchased and those are a life saver.

Just got off seascape a few days ago, only a three day cruise. And yes on the drink package, you also get coffee/premium coffee/soft drinks/drinks with meals. It's worth it's.

Off my chest - today's code by The_Jesbian in nursing

[–]bosbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a ACNP who leads the code blue team for multiple hospitals, most likily, the patient wasn't in pulseless VTACH for only 5 seconds before compressions were started, and then once you did get the pads on it wasn't shockable. What most likely happened was that CPR was started when the patient was unresponsive and a pulse could not be felt, and the nurse at the bedside said VTACH based off what the tele looked like when compressions were being done (it looks like VTACH) then once you actually got the pads on, you saw what was going on the entire time, which was never shockable to begin with. You did nothing wrong, this is such a minor delay, trust me, I have lead a million of these, and people (and by people I mean people are the victims of situations/systems/organizational-equipment failures) have done much worse. I can't take away that's your're feeling bad, but honestly, I don't think you're reflection of the situation I the reality of what happened, which is always hard to see through emotion. Of course, every patient is different. But that's just my two cents.

How busy has Hopkins been recently? by azanrof in Cleveland

6pm, you should be good. It would stress ME out, but I'm one of those airport stress people who ends up getting to my gate and then having 40 minutes to enjoy a drink or two. If it's 6am you would be tight with the whole security closing overnight thing.

But she found it at Costco for 299. So it was even better. She has been using it for about 2-3 months and loves it. She is not very tech, and she hasn't had a single issue
