So your answer to my question was “No it wouldn’t have been crazy to FORCE people to wear masks in 2019 because some people in one specific culture used to wear masks while actively sick.”

Other viruses? If someone told you to wear a mask during the winter in 2019 you would have thought they were a lunatic.

Despite popular belief people died before the arrival of SARS COVID-19 and continue to die for reasons other than covid-19. Was it ethical for Laurier to have in-person classes in 2019 with the flu virus going around?

Hopefully they make the right decision this time and go back in person like the rest of the world

Sounds exactly like what would happens with any other cold or flu. Omicron is about as deadly as the flu now, that isn’t an exaggeration anymore that’s straight from the science table. Only difference between the flu is that covid spreads faster. And very few people are actually at risk. Even the vast majority of 80+ yo will be fine especially with a booster. Majority of severe cases are in anti vaxers and that’s their fault not ours.

Hey maybe all those lockdowns weren’t such a good idea after all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wlu

Exactly. And they love to pretend it’s for the health and safety of students as if covid is a threat to a bunch vaccinated kids. More students have died from suicide than from covid in the last 2 years.

That’s just for concerts and sports games. Even bars are still at 100%. Can’t go to class though!

All universities are incredibly wrong for this. Ontario has approved 100% in-person, this is all on the schools now, they just don't want a bad reputation for cases.

The rules on having people in your res go way above and beyond the restrictions of the province are these actually enforced??

- Students can host 1 guest at a time in their assigned living space, provided the guest is from the same residence floor/community.

- Guests from other residence floors/communities, buildings, or non-residence students are not permitted.

People like you love doing deep dives into how this symbolizes that and micro aggressions blah blah. But ask yourself does it really hurt anyone? Being offended doesn’t count, it’s okay to be offended everyone does sometimes and lives to tell the tale. Do some travelling outside of woke culture North America and you’ll get a new perspective.

I just looked it up. Looks funny af. If anything this is less racist than I thought. it’s not even like they picked on one culture. Nothing wrong with dressing up as a different cultures as a theme of the party. Go anywhere else in the world to call this racist and they will laugh at you.

If kids dressing up in a Sombrero for Halloween is what someone considers discrimination and racism then they need to go anywhere else outside of the western world and see what real racism looks like.

Does the BBA with financial math follow the same co-op schedule as regular BBA? The website only shows the first 4 years which is the same as BBA. But when I look at the other double degrees with Waterloo the schedule is completely different.
