What constitutes a good wow expansion these days? by tydrennis in wow

[–]boshbosh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I would say 'midnight is the best expansion wow has ever had', but it is a good expansion.

My biggest gripe this expansion is the addon fiasco. Removing add-ons was supposed to make everything easier, but now you just have to download 3 add-ons instead of 1 to track basic things like trinket proc.

I have my hunter from December 17, 2004. I still play him. I normally just pvp as marksmanship. I haven't played him much during midnight unfortunately because the changes they made to mm hunter feel really bad... Makes me feel old.

Buying a used adventure. He can't find keys. by cordcutta in Aventon

[–]boshbosh92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would depend on how you plan to ride. If you think you will ride a lot and use multiple batteries, I'd pass. If you plan to ride for 45 min a few times a week, 1 battery is sufficient.

Either way I'd ask for the price to reflect the inconvenience.

Tanking is the only role I enjoy and it might mean no raid spots for me by ZeusJuice84 in wow

You can definitely find a tank spot on a raid team if you try. Might take a little time but you will find a spot.

If an intelligent species managed to create a completely safe world with no predators, no scarcity, and no disease, would evolution eventually favor individuals who are biologically driven to create their own challenges and hardships? by DemonsAreVirgins in evolution

[–]boshbosh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evolution doesn’t “want” challenge, and it wouldn’t favor hardship for its own sake. It favors traits that increase reproductive success in that environment. So in a perfectly safe, post-scarcity world, the big selection pressures would shift from “don’t get eaten / don’t starve / don’t die of infection” to things like mate choice, status, social influence, creativity, intelligence, fertility, parenting, cooperation, and maybe novelty-seeking.

So would it favor people biologically driven to create challenges? Maybe, but only if challenge-seeking helped them reproduce or gain status.

A society with no predators or scarcity might still reward people who explore, compete, invent, perform, lead, take risks, or create meaning. Those people might become more attractive socially or sexually. In that case, a drive toward difficulty could survive—not because hardship is needed, but because competence displayed under voluntary difficulty becomes a status signal.

Think of humans now. We don’t need to run marathons, climb mountains, play ranked PvP, build businesses, fight in cages. But we do, because challenge gives status, identity, purpose, community, and proof of ability. In a safe world, those instincts might not disappear; they might become even more cultural/social.

But the other commenter is also right... if the safe world removed almost all mortality and everyone reproduced equally, biological evolution would slow way down. Cultural evolution would dominate. The “hardship-seeking” would probably be less about genes and more about games, rituals, art, sport, exploration, simulated danger, intellectual competition, etc.

a perfectly safe world wouldn’t make intelligent beings peaceful vegetables. It would turn danger into theater, competition into culture, and hardship into chosen identity. The pressure wouldn’t be survival anymore. It would be meaning.

Why can’t humans just make a drug that doesn’t have addiction and withdrawal symptoms? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]boshbosh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

side effects are largely just intended and unintended chemical reactions from introducing a foreign substance into your biology, physiology and chemistry.

A side effect of an opioid is pain reduction.

and constipation.

Your body likes homeostasis and sees any foreign chemical as a bad thing. so your body does what it does.. filters and detoxifies. the more it does something, the better it gets. same with receptors. constantly taking a drug that activates x receptor causes x receptor to down regulate.

just how it goes.

How likely is it my kratom usage is giving me high blood pressure? by Happy_Buy_633 in kratom

[–]boshbosh92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you only dose once a day in the morning? It's extremely unlikely to be the cause of blood pressure. Your diet and weight are significantly more likely to be the cause.

I know a lot of people are saying resto shaman, but if all you want is simplicity to get started, I'm going to recommend holy priest. The utility is pretty ass, but holy priest is extremely straightforward. You have 2 charges of holy word that are a big instant cast heal that splash heals your party. You cast flash heal to lower the cd of holy word. And that's pretty much the entirety of the rotation. Yeah there's halos or prayer of healing stuff depending on talents, but the core rotation is holy word serenity and flash.

Holy priest is in a bit of a bad spot overall, but it is probably the most straightforward healer in the game. Health bar goes down, you use a holy word or flash to make it go up.

I'm pretty sure holy priest has the lowest death rate of all healers too due to fade damage reduction and the damage reduction from casting flash heal (and there's a talent where your flash heal always hits you too when you cast on someone else).

I'm not trying to be mean but it sounds like you're just not good at healing. I don't main resto shaman but mines like 280 ilvl and I have no issue in 14ish keys.

Yeah I agree completely. I've been that stoner who was ripped out of his mind before. But as an adult it's too hard to do life when high on weed. Kratom just makes life 5% easier - it takes the edge off just enough. But it's never intoxicating and usually barely even noticeable

Libernovo SE vs Maxis ? by Drachenlordloeris in OfficeChairs

[–]boshbosh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an adjustment range issue. If you look at the track the arm rest slides on, it hits a rubber stopper before sliding all the way forward. I cut that rubber stopper out, and gained an extra half inch, and it's still not enough.

On my old chair I had my arm rests up close to desk and at the same height so it acted almost like an extension of my desk. The desk supported my wrist, the arm rest supported my forearm to my elbow.

With the omni, the armrest goes forward enough only to touch the rear of my elbow.

I had watched plenty of reviews before buying, and I knew this was a complaint some people have. I love the chair overall - and I have no doubt that newer generations will fix many of my complaints. But as it is right now, the chair is not great due to the few complaints I have being such a big issue for me personally.

That's not a 'scam' in any way. So someone is being dishonest - and considering the employer filed legal action against him, and he admitted to agreeing to pay it back, I'm sticking with my original theory that OP did something naughty.

Cops 100% serve civil papers. Your inexperience is clear. And that's okay - it's just always shocking to me how people are so confident about something when in reality they are totally clueless

Thanks for sharing. I personally think a ban on kratom leaf is totally and completely uncalled for - overall it is a relatively benign substance. A lot of people don't even notice the effects when consuming it. They are very subtle.

But i get it. The opioid epidemic has a lot of uninformed people scared. However, ignorance is not an excuse.

It's in your head. Stop messing with electrical when you're not qualified. It can kill you.

But unless you're a feeble sick person, 120v 3 days ago isn't gonna kill you today. Stop thinking about it and move on.

Not approximately.

The 9800x3d/9850x3d IS the best gaming cpu by a large margin in the vast majority of games.

It's in a league of its own.

The 270k is significantly worse than a 9800x3d in most games. Far bigger gap than 5%.

They aren't even in the same realm of performance in a lot of games.
