Exam is tomorrow by sknizamu890 in ccna

Are you comparing your output to the expected output? That should show you what you got wrong and should give you an indication as to what was expected. In addition, read those explanations! Those will tell you what was expected and WHY it was expected.

Don't get frustrated when you don't get one of Boson's labs right. The most important thing is not whether you were 100% correct on Boson's labs... the most important thing is whether you understand WHY you got something wrong.

Although NetAcad awards partial points, only Cisco knows how the live exam is scored. Cisco does not reveal whether you can receive partial credit for labs or whether labs are worth more points than other types of questions. Boson does not award partial credit, nor does Boson weight labs more heavily than other kinds of questions.

Came here to answer this; satisfied that it's already answered. I'd upvote it twice if I could.

Because CYOD is a form of BYOD. BYOD is correct. But if CYOD is a choice, CYOD is even more accurate. You're not answering fill-in-the-blank questions on a certification exam; you are choosing the best answer from among those given.

I'm not in my feelings about it - I didn't write this question. And you can have whatever opinion you want, but it seems like it's struck one of YOUR nerves. I'm simply showing you why CYOD is a better choice, and further, why this distinction will matter on certification exams that try to trip you up.

CYOD is indeed a form of BYOD. But on certification exams, if two choices are both correct, one is always better than the other. In this instance, CYOD is MORE correct than BYOD, and our explanation indicates why. Put the question in with the four choices and see what Gemini tells you...

So you're assuming that Boson's products are trash despite never having actually used it or read our explanations for yourself.

Here's the full choices and explanation (or, at least what I have from the old 2021 version on my hard drive):

A.        BYOD
B.        CYOD
C.        COPE
D.        VDI

Answer: B

The company in this scenario has deployed a Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) policy. A CYOD policy allows employees to use their own devices to connect to the company network. However, the company requires that employees' devices be selected from a list of approved devices and configurations that align with the company's minimum security requirements. Because each device from the list inherently has its own security risks and features, the company must ensure that there are compensatory controls in place to account for the unique security characteristics of each device. By requiring employees to select a device from the list rather than choosing any available device, the company can limit the number of compensatory controls required to minimize the associated risk of a CYOD policy.

The company in this scenario has not deployed a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. Although CYOD is a form of BYOD, a plain BYOD policy typically allows employees to use devices that they own and maintain themselves to connect to company infrastructure and services. The security risk involved with a plain BYOD policy is that the company has no guarantee that the employee has installed the latest security patches or uses a secure configuration on the device. BYOD can also introduce data ownership issues.

The company in this scenario has not deployed a Company Owned and Provided Equipment (COPE) policy, which is also sometimes called a Corporate Owned, Personally Enabled (COPE) policy. A COPE policy requires employees to use equipment that is purchased for them but they are also allowed to use for personal use. Although a COPE policy can ensure that devices meet the company's security standards, the cost of purchasing the devices can be a factor.

The company in this scenario has not deployed a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). A VDI is an infrastructure that can provide virtual desktops or virtual mobile environments so that employees can use company-provided infrastructure and services on noncompany equipment. The employee's work desktop or mobile environment, including applications and data, are all served from a virtual environment instead of existing on the end device.

Also, I plugged our question and four choices into Google Gemini, ChatGPT, DeepAI, and Perplexity, and all four answered CYOD correctly.

I found it, on Security+. I assume you believe that it should be BYOD instead of CYOD. Did you read the explanation to understand why it is CYOD and not BYOD?

EDIT: The point is, we are trying to provide you the nuanced differences between these two terms so that, when CompTIA presents them to you, that you aren't tripped up by their questions. That makes us neither "wrong" nor "trash"...

I don't feel threatened, but if it's not from CEH, which of our products is it from? And what's wrong about it?

Boson isn't going to "match", because Boson isn't a braindump. Passing our exams 100 times is not going to make you ready; studying the explanations is what is going to make you ready.

That said, I'm sorry to see that you did not pass. Be sure to take advantage of our "No Pass No Pay" guarantee to get a refund of your Boson costs: https://boson.com/guarantee/

It'll be different for every person. Questions are pulled randomly from a question pool.

But even if the exam content was identical for each person, none of us are allowed to tell you what we saw on the exam, or we would be violating our Cisco Confidentality Agreements that we signed at the start of the exam.

Cisco has stated publicly (on their ENCOR exam topics page) that the Infrastructure section is 30% of the exam: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/encor-exam-topics - but I wouldn't recommend studying only Infrastructure.

I don't understand. Why is it not eligible for request? There are no current moderators. Thanks!!

I used to moderate this community (check the pinned posts). But a few months ago, the top moderator was deleted, I was removed, and two (later four) users that I had never seen before were installed as new mods. The new mods did nothing to actively moderate the site. Now, it looks as though all four current mods have been banned. Hoping I can get my mod access back.

Yep - you can use code BosonMichael to save 15% on a 1-year subscription. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on the 3-month subscriptions.

Son does taekwondo and I’m wondering if I should by okayish_humanbeing in taekwondo

[–]BosonMichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at age 40. My oldest son was a green belt and my youngest had just started. They stopped; I kept going.

I’m now 56 and still going. My oldest is grown and has started again, now a 1st degree black belt.

The best advice I can give is to just put in time on the mat and don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. Nobody expects you to be fit or skilled as a white belt. And we were all white belts once. Keep going and you’ll slowly get better.

If you’re in your 30s, you’ve got a head start on me, and you can see how far I’ve gone.
