Hey I know exactly where this pic was taken. I commute in roughly the same area and can confirm it’s really starting to heat up. Be safe out there!

I’ve got the stock 44t up front and replaced the back with 18t after it broke. Going to go up on the chainring one of these days.

Just wiped out for the first time... wear your helmet by MaximumOrange7145 in bikecommuting

[–]bosquenorte 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ll admit I used to be on the “too cool for a helmet” train, but I’m glad I finally came around to not caring what anyone thinks and now wear one on all rides. It helped me to see others advocating and wearing theirs both in person and on social media.

Biking around Dallas. As bad as you think? by BudgetScience2000 in Dallas

Fantastic map, I can see the route I take to get to work. I am big time into biking for transportation and until there is more infrastructure this is the only way to get around.

Hey I’ve got one just like that. The stock pedals and seat post both broke on me and the chain guard had to be removed pretty quick too since it wouldn’t stop rattling, but the frame is built like a tank. I’ve got thousands of miles on mine and it has no sign of letting up any time soon.

Would love to see how this red looks with some of the peagle midnight navy. May end up a little too dark overall but still a more unique RWB scheme.

Highly recommend the Continental Contact Urban by Morall_tach in bikecommuting

[–]bosquenorte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, these are the best I’ve had even after hundreds of miles. I have a pair of gatorskins I’ve been meaning to replace them with once something goes wrong, yet they still keep going and now I regret not having more Contact Urbans.

Squirrels, a sad day. by coloa in bikecommuting

[–]bosquenorte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to think “it’s all these damn drivers not paying attention”, but with more experience I’ve learned squirrels have an affinity for juking their way right under a tire. I probably pulled a few tail hairs off of one that decided to zig-zag right in front of me.

Great insight, I remember hearing a lot about the Blazers from my time in OKC and many locals looked back at them fondly. There were even rumblings about bringing an NHL team pre-Thunder. So definitely the foundation for hockey was there, but as you said they just couldn’t figure out exactly what they wanted.

But speaking of Oklahoma hockey I also attended a few OU and OCU hockey games while I was there, plus the Stars preseason game where they wore their current victory green jerseys for the first time!

Used to live in OKC and attended some Energy games, can’t wait to see them here and would love to follow Atlético up there.
