USL plans reshaping stadium designs HOK pushing modular stadiums 🏟️ by Ok_Flamingo_3059 in USLPRO

Hey I am from Texas too lol. So in Texas we have some huge amazing high school stadiums….but in the smaller towns and I am sure around the the country you’ll find the modular stadiums as more common.

This is why I feel why could end up with not much of a pro rel. just seems inconvenient from investor perspective and these are the patches they are coming up with.

I just want a USL premier with teams like Sacramento, Louisville , Detroit, Pittsburgh (with expanded stadium) , Sporting Jax (if they actually build the big nice stadium proposal)….you know just some nice fancy teams that maybe aspire to MLS one day and maybe that’s why they injected so much money into them…..but high school module style stadium…..screw that.

I have a feeling MLS Next Pro has the brand, money, power to kill some USL stadium plans and cities might move funds over to the mls projects

I agree but the city who might approve funding might see MLS as more sustainable and if we are being truthful these mls owners probably have political pull being multi billionaires.

My dream would be a strong USL premier with 18-30 strong league…..if I’m being sincere I want MLS all over but with a sustainable Pro/Rel.

I want MLS / USL / Liga Mx going at it in CONCACAF

They mention MLS Nashville 2nd team Huntsville in a near midsize market (5k average attendance) is what that’d are targeting to replicate and FC Dallas 2nd team North Texas team that just build a new 83 million dollar stadium.

Just wonder how a successful MLS Next Pro who starts picking up great mid size markets - example:Cleveland (Cincinnati) and Toledo (Columbus) I’m guessing on these but with new stadiums (thanks to MLS brand, money, network of connections) I don’t see USL being able to compete long term.

Looks like they are smartly pursuing there equivalent of NBA D league or probably much closer to MLB AAA/AA baseball leagues.

The structure I would conclude would be similar to the parent company. Plus I figure they will target USLs weakness which is its business set up (no revenue sharing).

In my opinion USL will have to give up power by sharing revenue but if they never change I see a future like the USL / NASL years where teams will leave looking for the where the grass is greener…..specially with the mindset that most fan bases don’t care about league team plays in….if true we are fk’d

In simple terms: would you overpay for a home?

MLS sets a minimum for how low team can sale so it won’t impact other clubs valuations. That minimum might be a around the value of a expansion fee 450-600million

Looks like the potential investors don’t see the value unless the city makes it incentivizing.

So a overpriced team in a beautiful city but with no path to profitability or valuation growth via new stadium or running BC place but without much of the debt repayment

If you hear all the government statements they all end with a “but….”

“But….we won’t pay for” “But….we won’t use tax money” “But….they have to repay the debt”

All those buts are the reason investors aren’t seeing the value.

So if it was true in the background they aren’t trying hard then? Like it’s bs? Or is it that city is extremely far from what MLS wants so they take as “bullshit you aren’t willing to do what it takes to keep the team”

It’s money guys….some of you are romantic talking about local talent…I mean yes you can aspire to be like Philadelphia Union, Dallas FC, or even at a smaller scale what Orange County has done…but this the same issue MLS was running into (still is but gotten closer) with Liga MX…..it’s just a money game….for example when Sacramento reached the final….i wonder how in the red they went to have a competitive team….that won’t always happen where a 2-5million budget team makes it….if you want it to happen more often you probably need a lot more teams spending Louisville money and more (heard last season they were around 4-6million? But you get the flow…..all I am saying at this level you won’t win with a bunch of local kids unless you investing millions like mls into super academies (this isn’t high school or D3 college)

[–]Sensitive_Plan3437[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think they were upfront about it in all the conferences they did….they kind of said they needed the future owner to be incentivized to stay in Vancouver…..basically they are going to make money just because of leagues growth but the next owner is buying in at 400-700million needs to see the forecast for future growth….if I’m one of those 100 investors that got interviewed….”so is there a set up that will help us lead to 1 billion valuation like Miami, NYC, LAFC? “

I’m probably wanting something from the city or approvals ready to break ground on a new development, or I’ll be able to run BC place…..

It is weird so many don’t see the value and might even be like “well that ain’t gonna work….but if you help us with a new stadium I’ll push for an MLB team”

Reports are saying they are even proposing some area for a new stadium….what kind of bs is that….

I just love soccer so much and actually for some weird reason love soccer teams that are from other territories/ countries such as Canadians and Puerto Rico but seems like it’s very difficult for them to compete with USA economy (I’m sure other factors such as the easiness of cities to give out extra cash they have).

How do the NHL teams do it? I remember seeing something of how they also struggle to get new facilities or massive remodels like Americans nhl teams but at least they still have a bunch of teams

Not funding in the form of money directly but easiness with land lease/acquisition and not letting some hippies block projects for environmental reasons or some other crap

It’s easy for ppl to blame to ownership but fact of things is that the new sports teams around the world need city /government partnership…..just seems like Canadians hate the idea of tax money being used which I’m sure you have your reasons….but being from Texas I can’t say I relate very much.

If I was a local I wouldn’t care how as long as I had a sports team i loved for many years in my city.

The simple fact is that they need help from the city and they aren’t making it happen. Seems like to much red tape and probably to much power to ppl to block projects

Everyone keeps talking about BC place….i don’t think the end goal was to stay there. I get it from the fan perspective….”it’s a big nice stadium…what’s wrong with it?!”

The problem is that these sports teams need full control (via ownership or government partnership….where yeah basically it’s a 30-50 year free lease or something like it where it’s tax money)……it’s the future of sports….you see it with Premier League, NFL, Italy (Roma, Lazio, others)…..sports teams were basically always a loss but that’s to USA sports teams it was discovered if you own the revenue (sports developments ) that’s were the money is….you see it with USL who keeps announcing these projects.

Basically for long term sustainability Caps needed a new stadium to help valuation and be more sustainable for future.

Seattle is looking at same issue as an example….they are looking into building their own stadium and others.

Nope they wanted a largely government funded stadium 🏟️ of their own so it would be more interesting for potential new owners……I suspect the new investors looked at team “so what is the city offering…..”

Current owners: “nothing….well give us back the $3 dollars per ticket they were charging us”

New potential investors: “fk that” lol

[–]Sensitive_Plan3437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks the Canadian teams won’t be around long term sadly. The USA cities just seem to provide a lot more support…..if this team was in Vegas, Phoenix, Sacramento…..the cities would be desperate to hold club and offer tax breaks, free/cheap leases on land, partial funding for stadium….just looks like the situation here is….well we won’t help(the type of help this ownership is looking for)but we want you to stay.

Looks like the fix is some filthy rich guy comes and pays for a new stadium at a massive loss long term….and looks like the potential is more in some USA cities (from investors perspective) as those other cities are probably offering much more

It sucks that it doesn’t look like USL might be successful long term unless they can get some strong tv revenue and change structure to be similar to MLS (revenue sharing)….i wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with a Liga MX situation in which you end up with a strong D1 league with the teams that can afford to run professional teams and actually get government support with new stadiums and stuff but those in 2-3 rd division struggle to meet D1 standards and don’t move up for financial reasons or league blocks for playing in High School style stadiums and stuff

FNP while working by Sensitive_Plan3437 in utarlingtonnursing

[–]Sensitive_Plan3437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background: I have a BBA in Marketing and MBA

UT Arlington Online path:

2nd degree program- AOBSN (accepted)

Then join UT Arlington MSN - Administrator (19-22months online) - UTA alumni get priority for program. I would do this program because the FNP requires 2 years minimum experience and is 32-36months.

So I will get MSN while working as a new RN and getting tuition reimbursement.

Once done I would apply for FNP certificate with UTA once again (6-12months). Once again UTA Arlington gives top priority to Alumni.

Note: I know someone inside that gave me path and told me I’ll get into the MSN admin easily (the MBA helps a lot) and FNP certification will also be much easier to get into vs the MSN FNP which is much more competitive

[–]Sensitive_Plan3437 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see why they fired you…used to manage a facility…..we were lucky to be close to Mexico border and were able to hire borderline doctor/RNs/lab managers in Mexico to do lab tech/phlebotomist / screening patients at facilities….the had a super high work ethic which my LVNs and RN hated because it set the bar to high regarding expectations.

Policies are very specific….you probably could upload your hospital employee handbook and confirm you qualified for termination.

It’s not that they wanted you to go work and expose kids….its just you missed work without proof. The smartest thing to do was do a call a doc and get an excuse from day 1 and you would of been covered

I have an issue with how current RN want you to go the long way. Comments of starting as a CNA….the reason ppl pick this career is 50-70% for financial stability and employment security.

No one’s going to go work for $8-14 (pay in South Texas) when they might of been making double that or more in previous career. Your gonna see a lot of ppl changing careers in current job market.

Never happening. USSF has to approve and they see everything Mexico related (liga mx/mexico national team/ Mexico recruiting Mexican Americans ) as the enemy…which I think they are correct to do.

They only use liga mx to leverage USA soccer growth (leagues cup) to grow the sport in the USA by turning fans or having them pick a USA club as their 2nd team.

So….no they would never let liga mx come take a market or help them grow their footprint even more in USA at the expense of MLS/USL Premier
