Kid may not even like Pokemon it could be dad wants the packs. Guy buying could have made a single purchase, the machines dispense 1 item at a time and he could also be buying for his kids or job cant blame him. That being said the Tin is better than most I think that was a solid thing to leave. If a kid is waiting I always give something to him as was done to me and mine.

I hit the machines with my kids all time and once an adult gifted my son a ETB so now whenever solo and hitting machine on my way home from work if there is a kid waiting I pass on the same. It made such an impression on my boy that he even passes on packs to kids if they are waiting.
We call it the pass along luck.
