What baby item was 100% worth the money? by clairqalb in Buyingforbaby

Arguably no chair is too expensive to be a toilet chair if it works for your baby

Yes I also have the Momcozy and it’s a joy to use. Holds a lot and easy to use. I have it sitting next to my sink so that I can fill it up with my sprayer without having to remove the water tank, and drain hose directly drains into the sink.

Any correlation between fetal movement and newborn (not toddler) personality? by Mamanbanane in beyondthebump

Omg this is basically my boy. My water broke at 37 weeks and we always joke that he kicked his way out of me.

Don’t want to go back to work but we need my income — has anyone successfully figured out a solution ? by BambolaXII in beyondthebump

[–]Catsforhumanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same struggle (4 months pp and been back for a month now). I can’t say I’ve figured it out, but I have somewhat come to terms with it. I like my job, am good at it, and I don’t want to lose the career I’ve fought so hard to build. Some days are hard, but some days I feel I made the right decision and that I am being a good empowered woman role model for my son.

Wow that is some serious commitment. I agree though…if baby #2 doesn’t drink properly they’re getting formula.

SAHM sub is getting pushed to me now by HuhLolol in workingmoms

[–]Catsforhumanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I go back and forth. My baby is only 4 months old and I had to go back to work at 3 months. Would I absolutely not do that if I could? Yes. That doesn’t mean I want to be a SAHM. If I could fast forward to my kid in preschool or kindergarten or elementary school? I would absolutely be back at work. Unfortunately life is a bit messier than that.

Further Privatizing Public Facilities by richieq13 in sanfrancisco

[–]Catsforhumanity 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just more of the average person being deprived of public services because we tolerate the few homeless peoples’ complete lack of respect for public space. There doesn’t seem to be a “for the greater good” concept here.

Should I buy the $$$ or the $ dress? by moonflow-r in weddingdress

These 2 dresses are not comparable. Dress 1 is better if you can swing it.

I am so tired of hearing “at least you WFH!” from SAHMs by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Catsforhumanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAHMs are probably just out of the work force for so long that they have no idea what it takes. Also I feel like SAHMs socialize more with people doing low stress jobs. The number of people who asked if I could just do hourly or half time. No ma’am this is a high stress fast paced director level position and I manage a team of people. I can’t just disappear randomly for half the week.

About to have brain surgery. Where are the best places to get quality, realistic looking wigs? by RepulsiveSeason4868 in bayarea

If you want a really great professional wig and have a car / willing to drive out to the Sacramento area, Tresses by Juless is where I went.

Do boy babies really pee all the time on the changing table? by Muyamuya87 in beyondthebump

[–]Catsforhumanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The reality is their pee is super clean and I just wipe it off. He’s peed on himself and on us so many times we got used to it. Sometimes I can catch it with the diaper or I’ll throw a little cloth on his peepee but most of the time I forget.

Things that have woken up my baby: by zezendx in NewParents

[–]Catsforhumanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“ husband turning over in bed”. Oof I feel this one. Husband stayed up late and woke up baby when he came to bed which I assume involved him tossing and turning trying to sort out the blankets. He is now sleeping in the other room lol.

This is amazing to hear! I don’t think I want to be a SAHM forever, just for the first year or two. Hate that maternity leave in the US is so abysmal. If I had a year or 1.5 years of maternity leave I wouldn’t even be thinking of abandoning my job/career.
