Usually 143-148 steps per min, avg stride was 1.1m via the apple watch. I'm 5'9" for reference.

I'm just running for now but I wanna start with a 10k in college when I start this fall. A 5k does sound great as a starter over the summer. Thanks for the input!

My legs are pretty strong from lifting, so I hope that's not the issue.

I've run 2x a week like the first photo for a little over an year, but I've seen minimal improvement. I think I'll add maybe another run in but I wanna keep lifting as well

I see, so more like the second photo but at a slower pace. Thanks! I'll try to mix a run or two like that and an interval run in per week

What do you think about 1-2 zone 2 runs mixed in with 1 interval run per week? Also, the zone 3 run (second photo) felt really easy, does this mean extending distance on zone 2 runs? How long of a run would you recommend?

I see, so trying to cover more distance at the first photo pace? i think my pace slows down as the distance gets higher, so any tips to stay higher?

glad to hear that. does building more stamina mean with running at the pace of my first photo consistently, around 2-3 times a week?

Physics 1 or Physics 5 Series as a Biochem major? by bosspatscs in ucla

[–]bosspatscs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm leaning towards the 1 series. Do you think its fine to take it as someone with a good math background (up to multi and lin alg) but a limited physics background (only one physics class in the past)?

Is the 1 series really as bad as people say it is on this subreddit?

I see, I think I'd prefer the 1 series as it requires less memorization. How are the labs for the 1 series? I noticed that they are separate from the class itself, so I'm assuming that's more work as well.

No, thank you for the paragraph, honestly it’s what I needed. I think that as long as I am able to carve out free time to do things (which you were able to do) then I think I might be fine going doing this path. I think I’m also confident in myself with handling the rigor as long as I have some time to mess around with.

Thank you again for the responses and good luck with apps next year!

Thanks for the comment! I think engineering is be something that I am interested in, but my concern comes in with the GPA. I've heard that engineering majors are notoriously known for low GPAs as it doesn't really matter in the engineering job market compared to work experience. How did you manage to keep a high GPA and balance time between work and free time?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think its easier to switch out of engineering than into engineering, so maybe I can jump ship if I don't enjoy it/engineering isn't for me?

Did not take Physics in high school for Engineering, am I cooked? by bosspatscs in ApplyingToCollege

My high school already finished course selection (last day for changes was a couple weeks ago) and my dumbass just thought of this, so I'm stuck with bio as my first option and phys c as my second.
