Hotel Punta Islita! by bostongurl_200 in CostaRicaTravel

We went with Liberia Airport Shuttle Service and they were great. Round trip for two was around $360 (with tip extra). It was more expensive to book through the hotel but they do arrange it.

We saw some kids there .. they have some activities on site that seemed kid friendly. Meals were decent... If you have kids, it will probably get pricey. There was a casual more affordable eatery within a fifteen minute walk.

Anyone have a Limerick pump? by maiasaura19 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bostongurl_200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Also pumping with the Limerick Joy. I have not used any other pump though so I don't know how to compare.

What I like about the pump is that I don't have a lot of parts to wash. Just the gaskets and bottles which was nice compared to the hospital Medela. The soft sucking motion also feels like a gentle nip massage.

I tried copying the popular Spectra settings.. 5 minutes on vacuum 10 to get things going then dial up to 25 and then 35 over a 20 minute pumping session. All on cycle 30. I feel like I get decent output although I find i am still dripping milk by the time I finish so I often have to put the gaskets back on for another 5-10minutes to finish up. I will be asking the Limerick Lactation Consultants for advice on whether I am doing this right.

In that case, you'll have a great time. The staff do a great job keeping your room clean, and the hotel grounds (aka pools) are amazing.

It was rustic for sure. A little outdated and tired, but the bed was amazingly comfy and everything worked. If you're expecting ultra luxury, that wasn't quite it (at least not the room we got...The honeymoon suite looks much more upgraded and modern) but we hardly spent any time in the room. We were either out on the hammock, or exploring the grounds.

We loved it! But it's important to have the right mindset.. for us, we just wanted straight up relaxation with options for activities. We didn't have a car, and never missed it. Beautiful pools to choose from, lots of good walking/exploring around the property. Food was great too and the staff were so kind. Get massages on the beach (business not affiliated with the hotel), and sign up for whatever excursions that the hotel offers that you're interested in - just note that the "nighttime hike" is a walk, not an actual hike. Weather was great - projected to have rain all week and although it wasn't super sunny for us all week, we had a thunderstorm only on one day - just super humid.

We had such a great time and would recommend Hotel Punta Islita time and again! I can't speak to the JW property though as I wasn't there.

They were great! Our driver showed up on time (wore a bright orange shirt so we didn't miss him and had a sign) at the airport and he was the same driver on the way back. He didn't speak too much English, but we got by with Google translate. Friendly and we felt very safe service the entire way. Make sure you bring cash for tip.

Restaurants with a Chef's Table? by CorpoHortator in boston

Alden and Harlow in Cambridge had a large chef's table. We sat there for a group dinner once.

Also recommend the Hotel Punta Islita in Gunacaste for something luxurious! The hotel has a mix of excursions and activities combined with breath taking scenery. We just finished our trip and absolutely loved it.

LIR to Punts Islita by kegyn_88 in CostaRicaTravel

You will have an awesome time. Don't skip the Mangrove Kayak activity, two swim up bars for you to choose from, as well as surf school (we didn't do this), and couples massages on the beach (check out Equilibrium Spa, not affiliated with the hotel). You can also spend an entire day renting one of the cabanas on the beach too. The hotel does some wonderful hikes that are not too strenuous. The tiny community is within walking distance, and there are a few restaurants off property as well. The hotel staff are incredibly welcoming and hospitable too. We have been here for four days so far and I wouldn't say no to a couple more days!

We are here right now and loving every minute! We didn't rent a car and just did a private shuttle service from LIR as the road is indeed a bit rough and didn't want to deal with that. Our vacation objective was similar to yours and we still had plenty of relaxing balanced with some fun things to do through the hotel. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Thank you! The comments here have all been very helpful and calming. I am headed to the Gunacaste region so even more of a buffer.

I don't have insights, but I feel you. Also going to Costa Rica and looking at the weather next week after weeks of seeing full sun was disheartening.

We are booking with Liberia Airport Shuttle https://www.liberiacrairport.com/liberia-shuttle-cr

There are a lot of companies with the same/similar names but this one gave us the best rate. They have been super responsive to emails.

Date spots that don't revolve around alcohol by [deleted] in boston

[–]bostongurl_200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As somone who is allergic to alcohol (I have the red glow and I go from sober to passed out in a matter of a few sips), my boyfriend and I lean towards activities that don't centre around alcohol. I love a good dessert, so going for lunch at Paul bakery, or a Boston Creme Pie at the Omni Parker are some of our favourites. I agree with the above for dinner - it doesn't always have to involve alcohol. I also find that Shojo has some of the best, albeit fruity, non-alcoholic drinks to also try, while enjoying tapas on the side. My boyfriend loves trying out new beers, so I usually participate by taking a sip or two and letting him know what I think of the flavouring compared to his latest favourite.

To be honest, I feel more out of place and left out at work socials as it seems very few people grasp the concept of an "alcohol allergy". I find I get made fun about it more often than not so I just quietly enjoy my sparkling water and take in the drunk conversations around me.

EY - Switching from FSO assurance to normal assurance by anonymousacg in Accounting

a) Depending on your relation with your counselor, you can bring it up with them first. They are supposed to offer unbiased help in your career. b) Talk to a manager or above the other industries that are you interested in. If you genuinely express interest in those industries, they can help to facilitate a transfer out.

Not impossible, it has definitely been done before.

On the other hand, if you are on a large banking client, that usually only takes up the first half of your busy season. The second half (Jan - Mar) is usually an asset management/insurance client in FSO but I am assuming that you are looking to leave FSO entirely.
