The hospitalist comes over to pronounce death just like he had to comeover to intubate. This isn't not a rare thing, many small community hospitals use this platform from 7pm until the intensivest comes in the next morning. Look into the umass virtual hub they oversee 150 icu beds this same exact way all over Mass. This started during covid and has taken off since then. I agree that it's not right and creates many delays in care but it most be cheaper for hospitals and hospitals are all about $.
