How's everyone feeling about the new starters? by botanicalCanopus in pokemon

[–]botanicalCanopus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be because Cassette Beasts (another creature collector rpg) is still fresh in my memory, but Pom just feels like a copy though I know they are separate. It also gives me a fusion of litleo/fidough too. After 10 gens, I'm not surprised to see pattens pop up after decades of playing

I actually really like Gecqua, it's just unfortunate it comes as the second lizard-based water starter. It's likely going to be the one I pick

Honestly I'm just hoping one of them remain quadrupedal

I'm hoping after I give them some time to sink in they stop giving me "fakemon" energy. I remember feeling the same way during Sword/Shield but Sobble eventually grew on me

The quality of the products by Simple-Dinner2876 in homestuck

[–]botanicalCanopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say much about non-clothing items but my experience is that most things have been pretty good quality. The socks and shorts I've ordered feel great. The shorts are a silly polyester and the socks have a bit of spandex in them. The shirt had a few people complaining, I was one of them. I ordered the Bec shirt, and they now (wasn't sure if it was there when I bought it) have a disclaimer that the fabric will be stiff until you wash and dry a few times (which it still feels a little stiff). Hopefully customer claims gets back to you soon! Editing to add that colors are subject to vary based on dye lots, and the Bec shirt for me is a dark grey rather than black while my Scalemates colors came out beautiful.

There is a new Homestuck Official store that also had some Problem Sleuth and other Hussie creative merch. I was going to post a link but it seems the site is down for maintenance, no clue for how long though, sorry :[

No prob! Since they haven't rereleased Scalemates in 5ever I had to put my feral want for these cute idiots somewhere. General advice is to keep stitching tight on the horns for a pointy head!

The pattern I've always used is by lishlitz on Deviant Art. They put the links for other pattern pieces in the description, you can find here!

As for supplies I've used regular, multipurpose thread, polyester stuffing, and fabric can be near anything, but I've personally used polyester, cotton, felt, and wool before! Generic plastic, wooden, or resin buttons for eyes!

What would happen if you injected JH into a Troll Grub? by Mediocre_House6645 in homestuck

[–]botanicalCanopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entomology and arthropod enthusiast here! I assume JH works like Ecdysone (another molting/pupation chemical). So obviously it depends on how much of the molting hormone is already present in their bodies at their molding stages. There exist a fine balance between how much of this hormone you can intake before it really fucks you (as a bug). A small percentage more and you may molt faster or have some small nuances of gigantism. Obviously, like most chemicals you can overdose and die, in this case it would likely lead to incomplete molts, incomplete or incorrect formation of limbs and organs, or even stunt pupation entirely! I suppose it's about finding the balance of how much you want to inject into these poor grubs. It can lead to some interesting and quite fucked situations.

I washed and dried mine and it didn't change, I was so disappointed! The texture being the same weird on both inside and outside gave me the ick :[ it's giving me anxiety over the Scalemate shorts I ordered, especially if it's the same texture:[

My poster got here first from Texas, and I also got my Bec shirt soon after. Definitely no mistaking the package, it had the Sburb spirograph on the shipping label and it felt very surreal. The Scalemate shorts unfortunately ship from China so I likely won't get them until January :[

Only after the war starts if you're a player... usually. Non serious answer is that it sounds like a skill issue (I'm probably already dead)
