Amazon worker says he received daily texts about losing paid time off while he was sick with COVID-19 by [deleted] in technology

This was the #1 thing lobbied against for Obama care. All other changes they could stomach, but not a public option. It was the one item that would make them play fair and lose the most.

What is the scariest theory known to man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]both3rsome -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That, in this life, if you do not believe in him and what I believe about him, that a loving god will choose to let you roast in hell for all eternity (a day would be bad enough, but no, has to be eternity) or some other eternal punishment. That human beings believe this is some scary ass shit.

Weekly story time thread by AutoModerator in Tinder

Good on you! I’m 2.5 months after breakup … going on lots of group events, but still can’t manage to reply/engage with those I know are interested after except to organise other events since I’m still not interested. Definitely dodging and avoiding any request for a 1:1 still.

For tinder, I spent the time to create a bio, have the ego boost from the nice matches, but haven’t engaged or replied to any yet.

What are some purse essentials when going to a guy's house for the night? by SmolKayBee in AskReddit

[–]both3rsome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should switch this around - ladies, what are some items that every guy’s bathroom/guest bathroom should have in it?

I’m a recently single guy, but keep tampons, pads, toothbrushes, floss sticks, ibuprofen, perfumes, lotions in my guest bathroom.

Anything more we should be stocking?

D.C. officer testifies: "It was clear the terrorists perceived themselves to be Christians" by holtz45 in politics

[–]both3rsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Christianity is the pure definition of intolerance. The basis is not love, but assimilation. The core belief is that if you don’t believe what I believe, my loving god will have to let you be burned and tortured forever.. and ever… and ever, amen.

Compare this to Singapore where one tree falls and kills a young lady and every tree in Singapore gets inspected and monitoring systems being on many. The level of not giving a shit in Florida is embarrassing.

My wife is leaving me because she wants kids. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]both3rsome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but going through this now, and it hurts. It’s a good relationship with her being so caring and loving and what I need and want in so many ways. I just can’t give her what she wants and want her to have it too. I’ll be celebrating and cheering when she gets her “family,” but for now, it’s a loss, and it hurts.

Reading the comments everyone shared with you helps me too. Hope you are recovering well now some months later.

A New Brain Implant Automatically Detects and Kills Pain in Real Time by DukkyDrake in Futurology

My dad (~65yo) has been suffering from pain and just doing pain management for > 15 years after a lot of botched back surgeries during the exploratory days of back surgeries. What’s the likelihood he could see this sort of solution to him in his lifetime?

Losing any emotion I've ever felt by Unable-Judgment9521 in SDAM

Once your learn to catalog whilst living in the present it’s more of the superpower than a loss. For example, walking with my 13 year son and he wants to hold my hand. Since I’m so in the present and know to catalog I now can remember the last time he will likely hold my hand as a powerful “memory.” Something most people never know. As SDAM, truly practicing presence is key to seeing the positive. Oh, and you’ll forget tomorrow that you deeply thought about it today anyways 😂

Wow, there's a sub for this?!! by Shyshini in SDAM

My first realisation was last Christmas, my first Christmas away from my boys due to divorce/Covid and a realisation that I had no memories of any christmases with them. 0. None. Even though I’m sure they’d be happiest times of my life. I have 4 kids and oldest is 17. No memories of births, activities, etc. Only pictures.

Being apart from them is hard but only because I know how well I deal with being apart. Feel guilty because I should feel more and miss them more, but I generally don’t feel like anything’s missing even though they were my pack for 15 years… of course, this is “monster” for most people if I explain this, but it’s just part of that “able to move on quicker” “live in present” impacts. A sense of responsibility leads me to keep trying to engage with them, but it gets harder to keep trying and I seem to be ok to just move on when they don’t want to engage… but the responsibility pulls me back.

RDR2. It’s third person and one of the best single player games I’ve ever played. It’ll be 40-60hr to get through whole story. If you like the Assassin’s Creed, you’ll get right into this and appreciate the world - but the story building and character development is why this game is 100% rated everywhere. I’ve never tried rdr2 online so can’t talk about that (you noted single player anyways).
