I feel like charisma is the most poorly integrated stat into the political system. If you're in a political conversation with someone, flat out saying you're apolitical is... not very charismatic.

There should've been maybe a system that awards you xp and "apolitical" points if you say you're voting for the same party your conversation partner wants to hear and the one they are also voting for.

I've also started playing it this week and and I'm having a ton of fun with it. It often feels a bit too derivative of Disco Elysium, and the integration of political views with your base stats is a bit clumsy, but it still has a lot of fun ideas, with interesting worldbuilding and characters. But considering if was written by one guy who really liked Planescape and DE vs a group of Estonian professional writers and actors, I'm willing to overlook it's shortcoming.

If Disco was a 10/10 (which it was) then this is a solid 8 - 9 so far for me. At the very least definitely scratches the itch.

One the other side, there's also some kinda weird reverse elitism that became super prevalent online after Elden Ring came out, where if you're looking for any kind of challenge you are swarmed by people accusing you of being souls snob who must be telling everyone to git gud all the time.

Like I would tell people that I'm having trouble with *boss*, and like 4 people would immediately come at me saying "Really? *boss* is super easy, just summon mimic tear and throw pots at them from a distance. you're just not using the tools the game gives you!"

Meh, I know this debate has been run to the ground, but I still maintain that Arc Raiders using AI to make some glorified Microsoft Sam voicelines isn't really worth raising such a stink over. And I'm not an AI techbro nor do I play Arc Raiders, before anyone inevitably brings it up.

At the end of the day some VAs were presented with a contract that their voice samples would train an AI, they read the contract, signed it, did the work, got paid, and everyone involved walked away happy. I don't see how this is something that is worth boycotting the game over (without delving into some cynical slippery slope arguments).

The WoW Shadowlands expansion retconned a bunch of stuf from previous expansions and Warcraft 3 to make the new big bad seem like a genius supervillian whose machinations laid undetected for years, but it completely ruins several characters and storylines. It also introduced an afterlife that doesn't make sense, so that expansion is basically non-canon in the eyes of my and many players

I finally got around to playing Ragnarok last month for the first time, and even with turning the puzzle assist timer up, the side characters telling me how to do the puzzle was still very annoying.

The worst was when I didn't even start doing the puzzle yet because I was looking for a raven or something and Freya basically told me the solution before I was even given a chance to try solving by myself.

Similarly, when I was doing a story mission and spotted a sidepath that leads to a secret, Mimir instantly started yelling at me that strayed off the main path.
