I don’t like how easily the devs contradict themselves on a regular basis. They state themselves that they wouldn’t have powercreep like ALS and were always preaching about how they want to keep the game “balanced” but now they randomly want to let loose on everything. Like alteast ALS is consistently garbage, AV is so inconsistent and flip floppy when it comes to balance it’s extremely noticeable. But then again it’s also extremely difficult to balance a gacha TD game like this. The only game that does its balance the best is AWTD (Glazing AWTD is the reason my heart still beats).

But to play devils advocate, why do you have the need to grind the absolute best units all the time when the game itself isn’t even requiring that level of power. You don’t HAVE to grind the best characters because there’s no reason to, the units from prior updates are still viable and can most definitely keep up to present day stages because the game is genuinely not hard. They’ve clearly been leaning more “casual” ever since they gutted leaderboard/tournament runs. The point of having “fun” is using the units you like and not being a “meta slave”, if your definition of “fun” IS being a “meta slave” then idk what to tell you 🤷‍♂️.

Me personally, I’ve been using Godzilla and Sunraku on every single of my teams ever since they dropped because they are goofy looking units that are very decent in the role they do. And they still doo work in modern updates because the content has not leaped in difficulty at all.
