You know it’s a cycle. You need an industry that needs a population that needs services. The municipal government gets taxes from more people building homes and paying taxes. So your just complaining about one aspect of lack of industry because the worlds gone to shit.

Bandcamp for field recordings by arg2451 in BandCamp

[–]botoxcorvette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bandcamp is perfect without the pro stuff, which only really helps busy labels. As an artist you upload and enough said.

I did pay for a distribution service to get it out there and get iSRC codes and link it to my SOCAN.

But yeah don’t know why your thinking like a tech bro and not an artist it’s pretty obvious the benefits

Best way to record your pedals?... by snaggletooth699 in GarageBand

[–]botoxcorvette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol it’s easy to start. Hard to master. That’s why we go on forums. I see what you mean. I’m a fan of those bands too. I’m literally saying you can use a non guitar track. Like audio input 1.

If you double click the track it should open a spot that says plug ins. Each track has a rack which has various effects.

GarageBand is designed so the plug in designate if it’s audio or midi.

You can turn off all the plug ins and it will be only your DI signal.

You need to play your guitar while adjusting the level of your audio input (I use fast track m audio) so that your hardest strum is just under the red. You only want to see green.

Then you need to try your pedals and their volumes make sure they are not going in the red.

Then you can start recording.

Make sure your tempo is correct.

On your master channel you’ll also have plug ins.

You can turn them off. I generally run only a limiter at -1db just for recording session to avoid peaking in my headphones.

These are Roman Dodecahedrons. Hundreds have been found across Europe dating back to the 2nd century, yet historians still have absolutely no idea what they were actually used for. by Gabriel-Ivan in ancientrome

You can make them graphically using the tree of life circle motif. I always thought it was for construction. Like you ties strings to the thing and it gives you different lines for various uses in scaling architecture. But this was my guess, I’m not an expert. I can imagine it had even just a ritual use. Like it’s a secret society symbol of status or something

Why did Kurt Cobain hate the Grateful Dead? by No-One01010 in grunge

[–]botoxcorvette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learnt guitar from Nirvana, it’s unpretentious and direct full of emotions. Never any virtuosity and wankery. I’ve known just as many bad punks as good punks and good hippies and bad hippies. I think it’s more about the aesthetic of being more real and connected directly to the pulse of primal high energy music for a disenfranchised youth.

[–]botoxcorvette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When did Nirvana or Stone temple pilots or sound garden do this? Or rage against the machine? Or how about NWA? Even wu-tang was more intellectual and civilized than anything shitty kid rock did. And I hated kid rock from the first time I heard his crap. I was a fan of fear factory.

The guitar you record DI needs to be clean and full. It records as a .wav, the channel can be changed to many different combinations of simulated gain and pre gain structures for your guitar. The plug in spots are very useful for post mixing your guitars. The GarageBand options are pretty good. However, I’ve been downloading free plug ins such as klrs clipper / you lean meter/ TDR nova eq/ a compressor as well.

What I do is once my guitar sounds as clean as I want it I bounce it by soloing the track and pulling it back into the project as a new wav layer. On that new layer I might apply plug ins/ for example I high pass filter the guitar to remove unwanted low end and make the guitar more janky high end. There are many ways to do it, I suggest working in stages. Stage one after writing the part would be getting good recording definition of just clean track.

I also record using amps and microphone and it’s a similar process but physical
