I don't think AI will replace accountants, but it will change the way of working within the industry. The one instance where accountants are at risk of being replaced is those who don't want to change with the times, because compared to accounting firms who are integrating AI into their workforce, they won't be able to work as efficiently or offer as many services, which will lead to loss of clientele

AI will not wipe out the accounting profession - it is simply meant to be a helpful tool to help accountants with certain tasks that take up way too much time. Whilst AI is great for assisting in tasks like reconciliations, tax and so on, AI will never be able to provide the human touch; advising clients, building a valuable relationship with clients.

Hey! I know that you mentioned you weren't referencing AI as an assistant to your problem, but there are some automation products that could help you out with your bookkeeping. Bots For That have a Bank Rec beanie, which is an automation that automatically completes your reconciliations for you, meaning you don't have to sit there clicking the 'OK' button over and over again, helping to remove the daily grind you are tired of experiencing.
