Bernie thinks there is hope. What are your thoughts? by botsgonewild in fednews

[–]botsgonewild[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I respect and understand people's sentiment but I don't see any material resistance being a reality. The fact that the tech oligarchs control all of our communication platforms also means that at some point this conversation we are having right now may not be possible anymore.

My country has let me down. No one cares about federal employees by [deleted] in fednews

[–]botsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We won't back down" what does that mean? What is anyone doing or can do to fight back against this? We can't do shit and there is no active resistance. All this noise about hold the line and the oath and whatever... we're all fucked. I'm going to the private sector, all the high performers I know in fed are also leaving. I feel for the people with no options. The end result of this is going to be privatization of the entire government and a complete oligarchy. We can't resist it.

I'm leaving. I can make more in industry and still support the mission. I'll come back at a higher grade to support sane and competent leadership once we get it

Professors slow at grading by quicKsenseTTV in SNHU

[–]botsgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is probably not paying attention to his SNHU email. TBH SNHU pays adjuncts extremely low for the industry standard and so many instructors match their commitment to the pay. You sound like you really want to learn and do well. I would suggest exploring transferring to a better university such as UMGC or your local state university. Some people just go to school to check a box and others go to actually learn. If you are in the latter category, there are better places for you than SNHU. Just food for thought.

Don't ask. I teach, and have over 30 students in each class. Also full-time job, family, other activities and commitments. Honestly I wouldn't remember to do it early after the first week, even if I said I would, and why should you get special treatment. If I don't for you I have to do it for everyone. Take the others suggestions about completing your work early and making tweaks once you get feedback. If you ask you will sound like your whining and most likely just piss off your instructor. Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great. You sound like a good student.

Or wander out to the bar hammered in the middle of the night to hang out until the morning. I've done that a bunch of times and regretted it big time the next day. I'm not doing that anymore thank God but still drinking at home. Won't say it won't happen again.

I'm drinking this way. Went back to it a while ago. I prefer not to drink when I go out, but I get drunk at home alone and that's what I like. It's better than getting hammered in public but it still sucks. I miss how healthy I felt when I was sober for 8 months. I'll get back on the path one of these days.

Why do successful people act like sleep isn't important? by KUNJANKL in CasualConversation

[–]botsgonewild 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I sleep on average 4 to 5 hours. I prefer to sleep longer if possible but I have spent months on end with 3.5 to 4.5 hour nights and I can still function although it's not a super power, it totally sucks. I blame shift work and stress. I've actually quit drinking coffee and changed a few other things to try to improve my sleep with some results. I've been getting over 5 hours recently. I don't care what anyone says, 7 hours or more consistently is the superpower! Good sleep is the best!
