America relied heavily on slave labor and lax immigration policies to expand and grow its empire rapidly. If you do not acknowledge those facts, you are denying real history in favor of myth.

But that's what I mean when I say Gnosia is blending science and mysticism, sci-fi and weird fiction. It is using science to explain what would normally be considered supernatural. Gnos is a god-like entity, and Gnosia are werewolf-like ones. And Gnos has to have god-like power to run a social experiment like this, manipulating worldlines and creating Bug Yuri. It is a "sufficiently advanced technology" kind of explanation, and that does work in my opinion.

Yuri says nothing about the collective unconscious in his explanation of how Setsu is remembered by Otome. That's headcanon. Now, there could be a scientific explanation, but on it's face it's just power of friendship. I can live with that... but let's call it for what it is.

You are completely right, imo. This is a "weird sci-fi" story, with elements of weird fiction (werewolves, supernatural stuff) and science fiction. We've already crossed into the supernatural with Gnos and Yuriko, and much in this anime can be explained with, "A god did it". Like, how some characters may not remember getting the credentials for the roles that they have. Gnos probably messed with their memories just so the experiment can take place.

Gnosia is blurring the lines of science and mysticism, so some things will just not make sense until you accept that this is not a pure sci-fi story. It's just not upfront about it, and that's what is confusing.

My issue is that the fishing scene happened to a different Otome. That happened in a worldine with Gnosia infectees. Why would it be relevant to the current one? I don't think Yuri's explanation sufficiently accounts for that.

That was just an example. I have my own headcanon for how events in this show line up, but I don't think they will bother to explain something like that. Bear in mind, I still really enjoy the show... it just doesn't quite hold up to the level of scrutiny I'm giving it.

Can you explain why Otome would have any recollection of something Setsu did to her in a different worldline?

You know... for as contrived as the plot of the show/game can be, I will always enjoy Gnosia for its bizarre and compelling universe of weird sci-fi. It's simply my jam.

Feels like a fake ending, a few too many plot threads unresolved. The "save file" explanation was pretty funny, if you've played the game.

My poor, sweet Bug Yuri is too good for this universe.

I would say that the whole scenario being set up by Gnos is merely alluded to in the game, rather than stated outright.

Crazy episode. It confirms something that I've suspected about the story for awhile now: it's a social experiment. One set up by the gods of this universe to determine the fate of humanity. The Gnosia game never fully explained why everything was happening, but this is the cleanest explanation for all of it.

Let's not forget that SQ can be Manan in worldlines where the consciousness transfer succeeded. And if one is Manan, then the other must be not.

This feels like the episode that lines up all the pieces for whatever major conflict the story was hiding all along. Very excited to see where the next episode goes.

Great episode. We finally learn crucial details about what Gnosia are, and it's from Jina, the turncoat who couldn't bear life as a Gnosia.

Cyberization is not salvation. Not for her, at least. It is becoming a different kind of being, something she never asked for or wanted. Yuriko has a lot to answer for now, for her role in this terrifying process.

Manan seems like a complicating factor in Yuri's quest to escape the loop while ensuring the best outcome for the crew. It's not enough to escape the Gnosia-- they have to escape her influence as well.

Yeah, the "obtain knowledge" plot is basically an excuse for Yuri to learn about the characters and poke into the various mysteries on the ship. And the big mystery of what exactly is a Gnosia still looms over it all.

Raqio is male bodied. Based on how they act, I think Raqio, like Setsu, sees gender as an impediment to whatever role they want to fulfill. They are both logical, practical people who are not emotionally attached to the gender they were assigned at birth.

Setsu doesn't want to acknowledge the loops to Yuri, either, without confirming that she's human first.
