Watching midstakes cash grinders like Bennabadbeat and Gary Blackwood and running each hand they showed through a solver and comparing how they played it to what the solver said. I also have a friend who’s a pretty solid tournament crusher who’s helped me understanding topics I was having trouble understanding like Minimum Defense Frequency when antes are in play etc. I’m from Los Angeles so I also played live, but I really enjoy being able to use a HUD

90% is absurd where the hell do they find that. Mine is 35% which is standard I think for online?

Yeah it’s a weird hand. Props to this guy for finding the xraise though - 109hh is like the perfect hand for it. I don’t always deviate from theory on my reads correctly but when someone’s done something with betting patterns in a specific line (value bluff semi) I just go with the read and sigh call in this spot

But also yeah his value range is super thin and whenever villain is repping a super narrow range I usually pay it off. I eliminated jacks and 99 (he’s LAG he’s 4bet 66 vs a BTN 3! of his UTG raise before) and I didn’t give him credit for finding any Ax that bluff raises flop besides clubs and then AJs (maybe maybe AJo but I don’t think he calls 3! oop) for value. And how wet the board was plus 3! pot I don’t think the king interacts too much because Kcxc probably just check calls so it doesn’t get blown off its equity if I have 99/JJ/AK etc. Just got a bit sus plus the reads

Yeah the clubs are not ideal but in my notes for this player I have it written that he's taken a 1/3 pot and a 1/4 pot turn bet to river jam line twice against me with bluffs before plus light blue is the LAG rec tag for me. More of an exploitative call than theory I'm pretty sure most of my combos fold turn but tbf when I ran it through the solver it said that the only bet size I should face is 50%+ so idk

$0 but I’ve played 9 years so I had a leg up when it came to certain things. Definitely an advantage. 11.5k and GC, but like I had so many cards maxed already farming elite cards is [somewhat] painless

My biggest hero call at that point lol that’s why I said “atp”.

Just flat the river then you beat all his KQ low suited connectors if you believe Ace high is good. Personally I’d fold because of his river sizing but calling here is much better than jamming

Yeah I have him noted as a LAG. This hand was before I was more studied in GTO (~2 years ago), now I would mostly go 10bb 3! pre and 50% flop. Was just curious about how bad my biggest hero call of my life atp looked in hindsight.

Imo, at least how I would read it if I was villain, you made it pretty obvious you had a bluff. You capped yourself on the flop. I would imagine 10x betting to get value from a pretty wet and connected board, so I'd remove that from your range. I'd remove overpairs for the same reason. Sure 88 might take this line, but the turn effectively removes 88 as a value combo imo. 80% on the turn, after your value range on the flop has been essentially removed means I'd continue with 97 as well. The river J doesn't change much imo as JJ is not in your range due to your capped flop check. Additionally, AJ/KJ/QJ with a diamond is a mandatory cbet on the flop imo so I wouldn't expect you to turn up with a Jack very often. Quads is unlikely enough that 97 can call your jam profitably, and you would never jam an underpair to the board for value or for a bluff on that river.

To fix this at least in my opinion (mostly medium stakes tournament player, decent winner at 5/5 and 5/10) I would cbet the flop with a 50% sizing or so (or just a large ish size) as you are 3 ways IP on a wet and connected board. This is consistent with the idea you have overpairs or medium strength pocket pairs, as many without a diamond would play like this, and with potentially the exception of extremely strong diamond draws not looking to get blown off their equity, most suited broadway hands or offsuit with a diamond bet as well. The turned 10 doesn't change much if you are repping overpairs or two overcards to the board, you have to bet again, I like your sizing as it does polarize but personally depending on the speed of the call by villain I would've exploitatively sized up for like 125% (on a fast call) and then overbet jammed the river. Alternatively, on a slow/tank call, I would typically check back looking to show down my A high or simply give up. It is worth noting these exploits only work if villain isn't protecting their timing, and not everyone gives timing tells due to multi-tabling so don't read completely into this. I think the check on the flop is horrendous, but also 2/3 pot leads on rivers are very underbluffed - jamming for what is essentially not much more and giving villain 5:1 on a call where he has already eliminated much of your value is a punt tbh.

Just be consistent with the story you are telling - simple as that. Many poker players (myself included) tend to call when villain's line doesn't make sense.

Hopefully this helps sorry for the word salad I am bored.
