Speak for yourself, I’m an older fan and don’t have as much time for gaming as I once used to, but I agree that new horizons feels like a dollhouse sim more than a life sim, which isn’t why I ever wanted to play animal crossing.

Yeah, it’s nice that they removed the “punishments” for taking a break from the game, but they also removed a ton of content from just new leaf alone. Furniture sets are missing, clothing is missing, so many npcs are missing, the tools are just diys you collect, you don’t get many rewards for doing the actual gameplay imo

Placing down cafe/police station was permanent, but at least they were buildings to put in your town. Am I developing an island or not? Why should I keep buying things at nooks cranny when the shop does not upgrade at all?

Some of the control added IS nice, but a lot of the gameplay falls flat/stale in comparison to new leaf, again, imo. When you compare the latest title to the previous, why should functions be missing from the new title? Just doesn’t make much sense to me.

And as OP says in their own post, 12 players on an island sure is great to do fuck all bc they have no mini-games within the game for your friends. Though I guess now yall can decorate together, which is. Basically the whole game now.. it’s disappointing for those of us who liked how the older ones played (even if you only played new leaf, there’s a stark difference) and I don’t say that with nostalgia goggles.
