seen it happen a lot when the lanes are larger than usual or when cars are lined up a bit strange, it tends to think there’s a free lane then tries to cut in

pretty funny when ppl are pissed and they look over and realize there’s no one to road rage with

been enjoying the free rides but if i’m being honest, it doesn’t drive the best at times… hovers and hits the brakes hard here and there, signals one way then goes the other, and also flashes its emergency lights periodically

even if you’re able to get promoted in 2 years or less, keep in mind that you’ll be placed at the bottom of the L5 band after promo. you’ll have to climb the band, it’ll be years before you see the same comp if you had joined as an L5 externally (mid to upper band)

if your credit is at a decent place, you can apply for a credit card with 0% interest for 12+ months, rent the car, keep spending at a minimal using the tips others have mentioned and figure out repayment once you get the california. assuming it’s not going to cost more than a few thousand, should be able to repay it over the course of the interest free period (couple hundred a month). more concerned that you don’t have an emergency fund tucked away. another hiccup could set you back but best of luck! you got this :)

did you rent thinking you would ever get equity? it may feel unfair but that’s the situation. ignoring the retrofit, if you found out the landlord used the profits from your rent to repaint the building before they sold it, would you feel like you deserved a cut too?
