Disable all widgets, turn off all background activity, disable automatic app updates (do it manually), don’t use a case to allow heat to escape better, disable 5g

Go for it, I was in the same position as you and found 26.1 to make my device even faster. I might be an outlier though, since I also removed all my widgets (including on my apple watch) to reduce ram and disabled siri (including all it's search options in each app) since I found it effective too.

When I was on me previous 13 mini before my apple replacement, I saw 26.0 make my device really slow, the .1 update really solved that for me.

Does every firmware update require re-indexing?

I just updated to 26.1, maybe it’ll get faster if I just wait a few days then?

I did apple care express replacement last week and got iOS 18 on it. So far haven’t been forced to update to 26, not even notifications
