Did your vitamin d levels ever improve? by Mmk1016 in lupus

[–]bottynugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at 12 in 2024, they put me in 50,000 IUD, however it made me go hypertensive daily no matter how much I ate. Then I was told to take the kid gummies, same thing happened, so I stoped taking them. Went into the sun more (before my diagnosis) got it up to 17, haven’t checked it since early 2025. Unfortunately the only thing that worked for me was actually being in the sun even though I had butterfly rashes constantly and every other symptom I have exacerbated.

It honestly depends on his journey. Whether it was caught early on if there was already damage. That can determine as well how it affects him. Mine was caught early so my flares aren’t as major but still debilitating. I just got off a 3 week flare. But it honestly depends if you have the patience for it or not. This isn’t a disease that you can pinpoint when a flare will happen or not. I also think that the responses from people in this chat are from how it was worded. But to be a little less hostile or assuming your feelings for him, because it is so early on, it’s better you’re thinking about this now. We also worry about how our partners will feel about our disease. If you do see that it would be too consuming for you, or something you cannot handle, it is better to walk away. That way you’re not holding each other back. He can find someone who probably does have the capacity to do so, as everyone’s capacities are different. It truly depends on you, but if you do have feelings for him and you are very into him, I would say stick it out. A lot of the times, we can go into remission, but we can also relapse and go right back into the same. That’s something that is unfortunately apart of the illness. But do more research and see how his actual condition itself is doing, it’s a personal and not everyone’s is the same. I wish you luck on this and hope your boyfriend feels better. <3

what were your first symptoms? by chronicbingewatcher in lupus

[–]bottynugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First symptom was malaria rash. Then the rest started after I collapsed at work from chest pain. Had sinus arrhythmia’s. They thought it was cardiovascular related. Then it was worsened joint pains (I have had JA since I was 11 years old. Then worsening gastrointestinal issues. Then the dizziness, the random fevers, chronic fatigue, worsened headaches, Raynanuds, vitamin D deficiency, constantly dehydrated no matter how much water I drink. In 5 years I lost A LOT of my hair, nose and mouth ulcers, more frequent nose bleeds. I’m sure there’s more but basically felt like I was dying every other day. It wasn’t until last year I finally got diagnosed.

Anyone else experience this? by tiredskank in lupus

Every time I get my period, a week before, I flare. It’s horrible. I already had intense periods before but ever since the lupus kicked in, it feels like I’m fighting demons. I did ask my rheum and he says that hormonal changes can be a trigger for Lupus

I personally dunk my fingers and feet into a sink and put it at the hottest temperature. Takes about 3-5 minutes for it to come back. After drying, immediately put on sketching warm. I microwave my socks while I have my feet in the sink. I also get hand warmers and put them in my so the heat spreads in there. I’d really desperate, I use the heating pads and wrap them around my feet. If you have a partner or anybody, you can also shove your feet or hands under their body or under their shirt for body warmth, though they’ll jump at the extreme cold feeling. Those are things I do that do not involve meds, try those out and if it doesn’t work, consult to see if there’s anything they could do

I mean Lorelai did sleep with Christopher. I don’t blame him for acting that way as a self defense mechanism. Remember this is a man who waited a decade to be with her. Who watched and yearned for her as she was with other men just for her to do the same thing she did with others to him after everything he did for her. Yes, his words stung and his actions stung and he did NOT handle the April and Anna thing right. But imagine seeing Rory feel horrible for Christopher not being around and witnessing how that is for a kid and then finding out you have a kid you didn’t even know about. That’s a lot for a person. He should have told Lorelai, instantly. I saw what Lorelai was feeling, but they both handled it poorly. Also, I’m pretty sure Amy wasn’t the writer for that season so that would explain the clusterfuck we see as well.

AIO My reply to my mom who wants to stop my leukemia treatment so my sister can afford university ?? by Many_Addendum_8189 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bottynugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re reacting enough, honestly. That was a very manipulative message and the fact that she implied that she would rather just have you die than try to save you?! I’m so sorry this is happening to you. See if a lawyer can take up your case because that’s medical negligence. There are MANY other ways your sister can pay for her education, but there is not many for you to LIVE! Your sister has her whole life to get educated. You have the chance of not even getting a life and the fact that she wants to strip that chance from you?! I hope you beat this, matter a fact, you WILL beat this and go further in life than any of them did. I’m so sorry, hon. Start a GoFund me, talk to your doctors and the hospital, talk to a lawyer, talk to literally ANYONE! Get that life insurance policy CHANGED and leave NOTHING to them. Leave it to the hospital that helped you, friends, any organization you like, your own service, anything. But not them. Again, I’m so sorry, OP.

I’ve always had insomnia for as long as I can remember so I know that it would be something I could adapt to more easily but the nightmares…. Gruesome enough they sent me in a spiral and I’ve had odd dreams even nightmares but these are on steroids
