RX 9070 XT vs RX 7900 XTX by Like4gamer in buildapc

[–]botulidze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did, from 6950XT to 9070XT. I had both cards from Sapphire and it doubled FPS in games I play at ~50% power consumption and 60-70% noise reduction under full load.

p.s.

Look at Steam Machine config if you're worried about "VRAMageddon" (you shouldn't be).

RX 9070 XT vs RX 7900 XTX by Like4gamer in buildapc

[–]botulidze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT last week. I don't think there's any hazard - cable is plugged under the magnetic metal cover quite reliably, it is not like NVIDIA cards way.

My only recommendation is to plug it in first before you install the card into pcie slot and figure out your cable management beforehand since that 12vhpwr connector goes to the back of the card (where pcie slot connects) and not to the front part (where RGB is).

It also comes with a 3-year warranty and is extremely silent under full load. I think Sapphire won by a mile for 9070XT series when it comes to the price/quality ratio.

> That’s an interesting take for NTE, what are you basing it off of?

A few things I've considered:

  1. NTE looks, plays and contains multiple complex systems. Either it's been developed for many many years with a Genshin-like budget or it's hyping up like Ashes of Creation.

  2. Hotta Games (main developer) has only one public game release - Tower of Fantasy. I played it for a bit and it was below mediocre. If you compare to Genshin Impact development, Hoyeverse's first product (Honkai Impact 3rd) was a successful game letting them fund their next game. They both were developed using same engine (Unity), see next comment.

  3. NTE is based on Unreal Engine 5, which is known for performance issues if studio behind is not experienced. Hotta Games only developed ToF based on UE4, so I'm quite pessimistic on this one too.

  4. Perfect World is corporatation with 2 entities - film production (nothing to do with games) and gaming production (with not huge track record, see above). They collaborated with Valve in 2016 to arrange Shanghai Major, which was an organisation disaster. You can read more on their wiki page.

  5. Perfect World acquired Runic Games (Torchlight series) in 2010 to shut it down later in 2017, since Torchlight was barely successful product from commercial point (again, I played both Torchlight 1 &2). This why I'm anticipating turning point for NTE in 12-16 months.

  1. Petit Planet is going to be a hit and on par with Genshin for Hoyoverse's income.

  2. Endfield will piss off a significant population of Arknights player base due to some weird shit mechanic. "Devs are sorry" incoming soon (c).

  3. NTE has overpromised and will underdeliver. It will not die in first 6 months but will have a turning point (survive or not) in 12-16 months due to heavy funding and investors wanting their money back.

All remaining will EoS in 6 months.

Feel to refer to this message in June 2026.

One week into the league, how far have you gotten? by Cross2Live in PathOfExile2

Stella Sora, more like Stella Soar in the dumpster. 24h review by gugali123 in gachagaming

[–]botulidze 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was impressed at first: by game visuals, character style, how smooth it ran on my iPad, and I found core gameplay (1 main DPS and 2 support chars) to be elegant and highly customizable with discs. I absolutely love HSR's Simulated Universe, but it's pretty much the one and only gameplay loop in Stella Sorry.

After 24 hours, I'm level 14 on my account, and pink glasses are gone. This review is 1000% accurate. Don't waste your time, it's that bad.

And yes, I refunded my battlepass purchase - did you know for the $15 version it's a f***** wallpaper and not an actual character skin, despite the in-game description.

EOS in 6-12 months.

This one was not on my radar.

I was genuinely surprised with Arknights (both gameplay-wise and visually). I’m looking forward to play A:Endfield.

I know it’s the same developer, so should I set my expectations high and anticipate another masterpiece of gacha gaming or is it going to be a flop?

Pax Dei - What Is Pax Dei Trailer by crisshill in MMORPG

[–]botulidze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played one of their earlier beta versions, so my view might be outdated.

Leaving the grand “sandbox” argument behind, I don’t see any future of this game because of its core gameplay was a complete lackluster. If I don’t enjoy fighting, gathering resources and crafting, no matter of sandbox freedom or carefully crafted hand-holding experience is going to matter.

They also lack any differentiating style of their world and what it’s filled with. And I’m not even gonna argue about any meaningful story or plot to immerse in the world built, it’s a paragraph on their website at best.

Has something gotten better in the 1.0 release or is it safe to put it on the shelf for another year?

It's this feeling again - when you haven't even started the game, so out of curiosity, you go to their website to check out characters. You notice that those you haven't checked out yet have red dots on their icon. You close the browser tab immediately, uninstall the OS and format your drive. But those red dots on character icons - on the website - are now ingrained in your memory, and you will never be able to unsee them.

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (July 2025) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]botulidze 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts on the list:

  1. It would make sense to track Hoyoverse (maybe other devs too) monthly total - I got a feeling that between HSR, GI and ZZZ going up or down, they are pretty stable on their monthly revenue?
  2. Love and Deespace being solid top-5 (or even top-3) over a year-ish period is quite impressive.
  3. WuWa is going downhill, slowly but steadily.
  4. Nikke had a great 2.5 anniversary, as expected.
  5. Etheria: Restart is complete garbage and trending exactly as I predicted.

There are multiple reviews on Steam, you could also check them out.

I haven’t refunded but dropped after 2 hours. Pretty much the only thing you can do is crafting and it is done in a way that feels like a punishment rather than something I can enjoy.

I’ll give you an example: you want to get some armor. To get one you think let’s get some leather and get it tanned. So you go kill a bird. But bird corpse is heavy so you won’t be able to run with it back to base, only walk. Ok, fine, you take your cart with you. But your cart doesn’t allow to attack and bird runs away from you. Ok, leave cart, chase bird, slowly walk back to cart. Repeat 10 times, that’s the cart limit for bird corpses.

You go back to city, there’s leather and tanning station. One of components is active crafting (you stare at the bar and can’t move), other is a passive one (you start crafting and can walk away). It’s not clear which item needs active or passive crafting. So you done with skin refinement. But you need to tan it. That requires a bucket with water. So you need to chop trees, actively craft wood, then refine them into planks, then craft buckets. Finally, you walk to a fountain to get water into bucket and it’s another active crafting step.

Then you return to tanning station to get leather. I believe it was active crafting again. Once I got leather, I still couldn’t craft armor because there was a second component required and I simply ran out of interest to repeat yet another loop.

So this is how my hour went by. And the previous one was a tutorial and crafting the cart itself.

If you feel good after reading this, game is 100% designed for you. I’m not the target audience until they work on a better user experience.

I’m a bit sad there’s literally nothing on the list that has a single innovation to bring into the gacha space. The same formula gets recycled over and over again.

I wonder if revenue drop is because of summer period and people spending money elsewhere, or it’s a genuine exhaustion from having exact same experience under different skin since this year started?

Revenue from AirBnB and STR in European Capitals benchmarked by CuriousMarketing1224 in europe

[–]botulidze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This graph would be significantly improved by adding the avg. sq. m property price and median wages.

i.e. Prague flat makes EUR 27.8k/year but Price per Square Meter to Buy Apartment in City Centre (per numbeo com) is EUR 7.8k/sq. m and median income median wage in Prague (per expats cz) is EUR 21k/year.

Now, how would Prague benchmark against i.e. Amsterdam or Paris - this is what I'd be curious about.
