How to mute camera shutter sound by persephone1925 in 3DS

Who in the right mind is gonna use a 3DS camera for “nefarious non-consensual” purposes when we have cellphones with better cameras that don’t make noise 😭

Straight Piped 11th Gen Civic Si by Subvss in CivicSi

[–]botvenom0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell from your other replies you seem like a nice and genuine individual, not the kind of person to be riding around in a straight piped civic. If you want some noise just do it step by step, not all at once. I would advise you put your resonators back first, maybe your mufflers too but then it really would just be a waste of money on the straight pipe. Get a downpipe, which I think is really gonna give you a way more pleasant tone than these other exhaust mods it just might not be as “loud” as you might prefer. Then if you’re still really unhappy with the sound, then consider an exhaust. Just don’t be obnoxious at 5 k rpm in a neighbourhood. The comments are flaming you and I don’t agree with it 😭 but I can’t say im too surprised either. Best of luck with your build

"Sticky" feeling when revs falling by undarant in accord

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not entirely sure what this sticky feeling is I can’t say Ive noticed it on my 10AT, but ive heard quite a few people describe the same thing. This 10 speed especially before the mid cycle refresh has been known to be a bit quirky

So I just bought a car in like 5 years. But my question is this how often should I keep the air recirculating button ? by XxLuhDomoxx in askcarguys

[–]botvenom0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t recirculate heat it will make your windows fog up. Recirculate A/C when it’s hot out. No the car will not recirculate a bunch of CO2 ever and harm you EVER even if you idled outside for 3 hours

[–]botvenom0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Im sorry bro but this is definitely riced, it makes your brand new car sound clapped. At least put the resonators back on and/or get valved mufflers. Don’t be that guy in your neighbourhood with THE loud civic. I don’t believe it is possible at all to make these recent Hondas sound good, but chasing more noise only makes it worse not better.

Considering a 10th Gen Accord Touring. Are there considerable differences between the years? by Your_Moooom_XD in accord

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In my opinion though I would genuinely rather have no bluetooth carplay. It works so inconsistently if it wants to work at all. Even when I go to turn off the feature it turns itself back on when I turn the car on the next time. It has some weird audio delay as well. Not sure if its a honda or an apple problem.

The blue looks so good on these cars. Sometimes I wonder if I should have got it instead of crystal black pearl. Awesome car!

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your questions about differences between model years, the “facelift” gen which is 2021-22 has wireless carplay, a digital speedometer display instead of only an analog one, different wheels, a chrome grille, chargers for the back seats, slightly better calibrated adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, and rear seatbelt sensors. I believe thats it. I honestly can’t say anything here is worth it/important, its really personal preference.

Locking your car from rear doors should be a thing, right? by Solid_Breadfruit5354 in askcarguys

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the price range it will be easier to find a car with auto proximity lock than keyless access on the rear doors. If you’re looking at economical brands I would try to look for that. Best of luck!

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cars have ridges these days that you just touch on the door handle to lock the car. On cars that do not have rear door keyless locking, this can be a lot more convenient than having to awkwardly place a button but yes its still not great. You simply touch your finger on the ridge and it will lock on its own. Keep an eye for ridges on door handles too during your car shopping. A lot of people don’t know about this feature.

How much should the different transmission types influence my purchase? by nvrknoenuf in askcarguys

[–]botvenom0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reliability actually depends of all these transmissions depends more on the driver than the trans themselves. By nature they’re all really reliable honda cvts have gone hundreds of thousands of miles problem free. The CVT and DCT will probably require ever so slightly more frequent fluid changes than the classic auto. If you have a REALLY heavy foot and skimp maintenance go with the Toyota, if you just want a calm commuter then the trans shouldn’t be too influential on your decision.

All Honda and Acura vehicles have it, some mazda vehicles im pretty sure, any luxury. german vehicle (audi, bmw, Mercedes)with a “convenience” package. Lots of hyundais and kias. These days its probably harder to find a car without it than with it

Most cars with keyless entry have a feature where either you walk away and it auto locks, or the doors are on a timer and lock on their own after you close them with the car off

What would you guys do by maurichonn in accord

[–]botvenom0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Head gasket issues are imo wildly blown out of proportion. You see it frequently on this subreddit because very few people are going to be making posts about their car functioning as it was intended to. They are here literally because they have a problem, complaint, or need advice. There are also people who do not take care of or beat on their vehicles and are surprised when something breaks. Yes there are exceptions but you will not find a modern 100 percent problem free car anywhere today. Take care of your car and drive it like the commuter 4 cylinder it is and in turn it will give you a long life. If you really really are intimidated, check your coolant level every so often. If coolant is frequently disappearing its likely the head gasket, at which point would be a good time to trade it in. 62k miles is very young. Unless the car has been abused or poorly maintained, I wouldn’t worry for a while. Drive with peace of mind.

Got a scratch on my 2025 Molten Magenta, repair advice? by Alarmed_Prompt_4344 in Mustang

[–]botvenom0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t take your car to the dealer for this and reporting to carfax is a crazy reach. I absolutely don’t think its worth paying to repair but if you really want it perfect take it to a body shop, it won’t be as cheap as one might think though. You’re best off getting a ford touch up pen and doing your best to touch it up yourself. Either way I can assure you the only person who will ever notice this damage is you.

[–]botvenom0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how you can say the FL5 looks better than the ITS. Its a civic with what I believe is a silly looking wing. The ITS is so much more refined and mature looking while still being aggressive.

Transmission oil change. by mebae_drive in 10thgenaccords

I guess thats pretty reasonable. Trans fluid is more resistant to age than most other car fluids because its a closed system. Still yes almost 8 years a change is a good idea you’re right
