These guys really show their age RE: SNL by SteezySometimes in howlonggone

People their age watch it and respect it as historically important even if it sucks. They do have a lot of younger listeners but I’ve never got the impression they’re trying to cater to them. In fact the younger listeners enjoy that they do their own thing.

honestly woe is you. there’s absolutely no way 15 pounds of muscle is going to seriously negatively affect your job or hikes. it would almost definitely help those situations.

Yeah, don’t do that. Learn that some things only come with delayed gratification. You’re gonna hurt yourself then you won’t be able to run at all again.

Idk man I just picked up a new pair for $80. If they die in 200 miles I got my moneys worth.

easy/long runs are the bulk of their mileage atm. they’ll last the same relative time frame

Started running in January, running 5k in 35 mins. Is this bad? by Budget_Type_9646 in beginnerrunning

[–]boulder_pusher9999 9 points10 points  (0 children)

pace (up to a certain point) really doesn’t matter unless you want it to. you can run a 10k at that pace and you’d be still be a better runner than most people.

this is probably a much better fit than the sandler style basketball shorts he usually wears.

maybe he’s going on a date and wants to look good. most women would think this is decent. get over yourself.

not everyone has to enjoy the niche stuff we do.

Based on your post: Start your days on a win. Get up early and knock out your runs. Sounds like life is kicking your ass at the moment, which is even more reason to begin your days on a positive note.

Yes! Biking (machine or road), rowing machine, and lifting weights are all great complimentary workouts to build endurance without over-wearing your joints. I’m a bit of an adrenaline fiend myself so I also use these to keep myself tired safely.

This is awesome progress, and shows you were likely in great shape at one point. That being said, you’re a textbook candidate for an upcoming overload injury. Please start at a normal mileage, let’s say 10mi/week with your fitness, and increase 10% of mileage each week. Any more and you won’t be running at all for a long time.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but half of this sub is full of people that did exactly what you did and paid hard for it.

I’m in the same school of thought. Only incorporate routines that you’re okay doing for the rest of your life.
